I'd really just like to stop the isolation bullshit completely. Ball movement and team defense is what consistently wins. We can talk about three-point shooting, point guard play, and whatever else, but until these guys understand the former, we will continue to struggle and it doesn't matter who's standing on the sideline.
The frustrating thing for me is that I think both KAT and Wig have the potential to be very good distributors...we're not talking about Bazzy here. KAT displayed some very good passing skills right from the start in his rookie year...I remember watching him in Vegas, and even though he was getting bullied by some bigger centers, you could see that he knew exactly what to do when he got doubled. And he continued to show solid passing acumen throughout his rookie season. But somehow this year, that awareness and skill has disappeared. He's such a force inside that he is always going to draw double or even triple teams, but it's just so frustrating to see wide open shooters that he should be finding rather than turning the ball over.
Wig is another story. Unlike KAT, I didn't like his passing skills his rookie year. But I have seem flashes this year that tell me he could be a 5 APG guy once he gets it. He has clearly improved his sloppy handle this year, and on several instances I have seen him draw the double team as he gets into the lane and then find the open shooter in the corner. But even more often I have seen him ignore the wide open guy...frustrating.
You and Cool are right...KAT and Wig are the key to improving our ball movement, and they're hurting us right now by not doing everything they can in this area and forcing things instead. I think there is some room for optimism though in that I think both of them have the potential to be good distributors.
