I just watched Kentucky choke away a national championship. I was underwhelmed by Towns. I feel bad for Ashley Judd though.

I was impressed by Towns. He really got after those offensive rebounds.

It's tough in college ball to get clean post touches because everything is so damn packed in and defenders are more willing to front you than in the NBA.

Cauley-Stein....Not impressed. Yes, he defends well and can switch onto smaller players. Didn't see him attack the glass. Looked awful trying to score the basketball. He's a junior. If we draft him as our future Center, you are looking at a Rubio/Cauley-Stein pairing that can't do much offensively. That puts a hell of a load on the other three guys.

Good point.

Well said Q. Was never sold on him. Might as well ask Wiggins to score 35 a night if we draft WCS

TRKO wrote:"Safe" picks bust too. You draft the guy with the most skill and ability. That's the part that needs debated.

I can't argue that but Wiggins was a safe pick ( considering what we traded for him) and that has worked out well. I just think we go with a guy that shows the skills that immediately transfer to the pros. Okafor would make a very nice second option to Wiggins .. This team lacks offensively almost equally to it's defensive woes . With the news about Pek it makes it even more imperative to find scoring. He was signed for his offensive skills in the first place.

I feel so bad for Towns. The twins look D-League bound after how they denied Towns like that

Then you should re-read the post because a significant point he was trying to make is that Towns has more room to grow than his peers because of the fact that he only played three years in high school and not 4 so he theoretically had less development time than them going into college when in fact he is older than all of them.

I forgot to mention that part actually. I think having 1 less year in HS does make it slightly more impressive when you look at the whole picture (graduating early, 3 years a HS ball).

He was born Nov 15, 1995 so he started school a year later than someone born in August for example. It's not uncommon. He turned 18 his Jr year in HS and which was the year he graduated b/c he put in the work to graduate early. I crammed 4 years of HS into 3 and also gave up his 4th year of HS bball. So Cam was right that had he not graduated early he would have been in HS this school year/season and thus had 1 less year of development too. It's a valid point.

Can't disagree on the WCS comment and this definitely took a hit on his draft stock, but Ricky's known for giving easy baskets to the big guys, so I'm not sure playing with a passer like Rubio would be such a bad thing for WCS on the offensive end.

My issue with WCS still is that he doesn't look like a strong post defender against centers. It's Kaminsky but there were a few times he just moved WSC pretty easily. If you can put WSC at PF I think you could have something but at C he doesn't seem strong enough. At the right draft spot I would love to get him though because he would be terrific for team defense and we have no legit PFs at this point offensively defensively etc.
