2019 NBA Playoffs Thread

What can you say about Kawhi. He's a true superstar right up there with Giannis, Curry and Harden. I hope he stays in Toronto. The fact that he bought a big house in LA just means he's like nearly every other major NBA player. They all seem to have houses in LA. :). If I had to bet, I'd still bet Kawhi ends up with the Clippers. But I wouldn't be surprised if he stayed in Toronto. I don't see him ending up with the Lakers. I'd love the see the Lakers come up empty in their effort to sign a free agent superstar this summer. Meanwhile, it's nice to see the Raptors finally make it to the NBA finals. The Toronto-Milwaukee series should be a fun one to watch.

I was have ruined this team those drafts. KCP and Murray would have been my picks.

KCP went 1 pick before the Wolves trading down which I believe was just the first of what ailed Flip coming out of that draft. Worth remembering we could have passed on CJ and still picked 2 all NBA guys in that draft in the first round.

I forgot about that. I think that really messed things up for us and we didn't have a plan B.

It was Simmons and Jalen Rose doing "Job Interviews". It was pretty entertaining. Meanwhile Bazz is gonna make a handsome sum of money in China for the next 10 years.

I lost a lot of respect for Kawhai this year. Yeah, he's one of best two way players in league, but he sat whenever he felt like it and commented that regular season games didn't matter. He's a strange bird, though, admittedly a top 5 player when he plays.

Yes, KL is indeed a strange bird. Another word to describe him is elusive. Hard to figure him out. But he plays his ass off and generally let's his play do his talking.

I did not keep up with anything really when it came to Kawhi and the Raptors this season but from a basic perspective I don't know if I have much of a problem with him sitting games. Why? His career high in games played for a regular season is 74. Basically his average of games played for a season is somewhere in the high 60's. In addition the Raptors have a pretty deep Team. CJ Miles forgot how to shoot but Powell remembered. OG only averages 20mpg van blurt is a nice player. They still won 58 games. Maybe there was more drama about it but I don't have a huge problem with it. Maybe he could have played in 65 instead of 60 games. Idk but it also doesn't seem nuts to sit and protect your best player. I would have been fine if Jimmy Butler would have stayed here and sat games to stay healthy. Probably the most significant part of that would have been the idea that we may have thought outside of the "guys are paid to play" thing.

I don't love the players resting these days BUT it does make some sense and those Spurs teams were some of the first to really start doing it...of course it helps when you have a terrific system that creates tons of depth. lol again this is just my faaaaar removed perspective on the situation and just my opinion.

I dont think there are any problems between Toronto and KAwhi.

They let him take games off for load management because the goal was to have him healthy for the playoffs where theyve consistently faltered. As far as I know Uncle dennis and masai/tannenbaum are also on good terms (they were even seen hugging together after the game) unlike Uncle Dennis and Pop.
