I think Fleming, Beringer, Sorber or Coward would be available at 17, so I don't see the need to move up. There should be someone at 31, that is worth drafting.Phenom wrote: ↑Tue Jun 24, 2025 12:38 pm With the high variability in ranges for so many players, I could see a path where 17 and 31 could get the Wolves in a nice spot to move up if the right guy is sitting there at, say, 9-14.
I don't know if it would be a good idea but if they are locked in on Maluach, Sorber, or Beringer, maybe it would make sense.

I’ll still be shocked if the wolves draft at 17

Maybe,do you think we trade it for another player or trade it for future picks? No one is going to give you an unprotected future pick for 17, and you would hate to trade the 17th pick for a lottery protected pick that ends up turning into 2 2nds in a few years. This is hopefully the earliest pick we'll have for the next 10 years.

they'll fill that in via free agency. If they were ever shopping Lively, they'd get a top 7 pick in return.rapsuperstar31 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 24, 2025 11:07 am If we were to draft Clayton or Kasparas if he falls to 17, would anyone trade either Clayton/Kasparas or Rob to Dallas for lively? Dallas gave a three year extension to Gafford, have Davis and will be drafting Flagg who is more of a PF. Dallas is also looking for a point guard with Irving's injury.

Either trade down, or a future first. We are so close to the second apron once Naz gets his raise and Randle opts in.rapsuperstar31 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 24, 2025 2:36 pmMaybe,do you think we trade it for another player or trade it for future picks? I think the value of a future first is so much more valuable than pick 17 even if it’s heavily protected. Also don’t be so sure that the wolves couldn’t get a future first. Literally late last week the pacers traded pick 23 to get their first back next year unprotected (look like geniuses now with Hali injury).
Once this draft is over the only 1st round pick the wolves can trade is a swap in 2032, if they can get a future first they can now trade next draft. That pick, 2026 1st, swap in 2032, 2033 1st.
I just think our assets get really shallow if we pick at 17.
Miller/Minott/Garza: Little to no value
Clark: FA next year
TSJ: I like but older player lowers value
Dilly: still has high value more than likely but not playing/bad year next year kills his value
17: going to be hard to crack the rotation so value will decrease next year.
I would rather have the future asset then pick 17, just because the asset shelf has a chance to become really bleak this time next year.

While I haven't watched a ton of Dallas outside of when we played them, and he was great in the playoffs. I have to imagine only being healthy for 55 and 36 games in his first two years, while not playing heavy minutes is a bit of a red flag. He played 23.5 minutes his rookie year and 23.1 this year.WildWolf2813 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 24, 2025 3:00 pmthey'll fill that in via free agency. Would you rather trade Donte for two firsts, use pick 17 if we like a player and re-sign NAW instead? I've been leaning a big in the draft, but Jase Richardson could easily replace Donte in the draft.kekgeek wrote: ↑Tue Jun 24, 2025 3:12 pmEither trade down, or a future first. Re: Bored Silly - How About The Draft?!?
If Donte could really fetch 2 first even if they were projected to be late round picks and then you know you could keep NAW for a similar-ish contract when he would have for sure left otherwise...that would definitely be something to consider and I'm a big fan of Donte...but he was injured again and there is history of that being a problem for him. Donte can be a higher end player than NAW but NAW did improve as a scorer a little this year and I think he might play better as a Pseudo PG than when Donte has to do it. I don't think the Wolves will be looking to move Donte but at this point with some the deals happening around the league...who knows?rapsuperstar31 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 24, 2025 4:18 pmWould you rather trade Donte for two firsts, use pick 17 if we like a player and re-sign NAW instead? For sure but if THE GUY (whoever that is) is unexpectedly in range, I think it is possible.KG4Ever wrote: ↑Tue Jun 24, 2025 2:28 pmI think Fleming, Beringer, Sorber or Coward would be available at 17, so I don't see the need to move up. Re: Bored Silly - How About The Draft?!?
I'll be surprised if the Wolves don't utilize the pick for a rookie. We all know the usefulness of cost controlled players with the current roster construction. If they could get a 2027 or 2029 first in exchange, then sure. There seems to be some really useful talent that will be available.rapsuperstar31 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 24, 2025 2:36 pmMaybe,do you think we trade it for another player or trade it for future picks?
