Jalen Smith makes $9.4 mil. They'd have to send us back something extra to make the money work.
Unless you wanna swap out Green AND Shannon for Smith and the triumphant return of Rob Dillingham, it's not worth it.
Well the Bulls are a cap space team and are able to take back more salary. If you really want to get their attention you find a way to take Patrick Williams with Smith.
Donte and Green for Williams and Smith would probably interest them and that can be folded right into the current LaMelo/Claxton deal.
1. The Bulls have been spending money. Powell and Claxton have chewed up much of their space if they have any left.
2. Donte on a ruptured Achilles is more playable than Patrick Williams. They'd have to send you two firsts to take on that contract.
3. Then we must sign James Wiseman to a minimum to have the top 4 picks of that draft on the same team lol
The Bulls have to become a tax team to not have the ability to take on extra salary in trades though. They aren't there yet.
I dont know about firsts but they have tons of seconds. Getting a few seconds back with Williams and Smith would be worthwhile I think.

I would look at all the remaining unrestricted free agent bigs as potential sign-and-trade candidates for the Wolves. Two reasons another team might be interested in doing that: (1) they like Josh Green and see potential room in their rotation for a player like him; and (2) they see relationship and reputational value in helping a player and more importantly the player’s agent get the money and destination the player wants. Minnesota is an attractive destination right now for a good PF who would likely have a significant maybe even starting role on a potential championship contender. Further, a sign-and-trade could facilitate a slight overpay by combining Josh and Mo at $17M - $2M over the non-taxpayer MLE. The other team cold waive Mo and keep the payroll hit at $14.8M on an expiring contract.
I hate to burst your bubble, but teams in the 1st or 2nd apron CANNOT acquire a player via sign-and-trade. It sucks, because it eliminates a lot of possibilities!
[Edit: well, if the Wolves wind up UNDER the 1st apron after the trade is completed, they can do it. But that ain't happenin'... ]
Seems like a lot of the chatter is assuming deals are official, but right now nothing is officially done or signed so where ever they were before any pending moves is where they are right now. Bigger question then is, can a S&T be part of a mega trade would it require them to stay under the apron throughout said trade, etc.

That's an interesting thought! If they start the trade under the 1st apron, but wind up over the 1st apron after the trade, can they include a sign & trade as part of the BIG deal? I just don't know!

Yeah, wish I knew lol
edit: Just brief googles, the S&T itself might trigger the first apron hard cap.
Free agent center Mitchell Robinson has agreed to a three-year, $47.4 million deal to sign with the Boston Celtics, with a player option in third season, sources tell ESPN. Robinson departs the Knicks after serving a key role on the historic championship team.

GAH, Lakers are ALWAYS eventually getting their way.

Does this mean the wolves won the trade more. Kessler doesn’t even get a second contract with the Jazz and getting paid more than Rudy now

I'm still annoyed about giving up FIVE first round picks for Rudy (I count Kessler & think he rushed that deal by not waiting them out more) and if we go by that, the Jazz now got SIX of them for Rudy lmao...

Rudy Gobert has turned into basically 10 first rounders for Utah.

Lol. Seriously, it’s another indication of TC’s gross overpay for Rudy. Two unprotected 1st round picks and two 1st round pick swaps tells the tale.
