BREAKING: Trae Young intends to sign a four-year, approximately $212 million deal to stay with the Washington Wizards, with a player option in Year 4, sources tell ESPN. The four-time NBA All-Star declined his $49M player option for a long-term commitment ahead of free agency.

The Oklahoma City Thunder are finalizing a trade to send guard Aaron Wiggins to the Atlanta Hawks for two second-round picks (Atlanta's in 2030 and the least favorable of Hawks/Lakers in 2032), sources tell ESPN.

Atlanta Hawks guard CJ McCollum has agreed to a one-year, $21 million contract extension with the franchise, plus a trade kicker, agent Sam Goldfeder of Excel Sports Management tells ESPN. McCollum has been eligible for an extension until June 30 and commits to a new deal that keeps him out of free agency.

Free agent guard Jordan Goodwin intends to sign a three-year, $19 million deal to return to the Phoenix Suns, with a player option in the third season, sources tell ESPN. Goodwin made the Suns roster out of training camp on a non-guaranteed contract and emerged as a key reserve and culture fit, averaging 8.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and a team-high 106 total steals.

Free agent guard Collin Gillespie intends to sign a four-year, $48 million deal to return to the Phoenix Suns, sources tell ESPN. Gillespie spent three straight seasons on two-way contracts after going undrafted out of Villanova in 2022 and now earns a lucrative long-term deal.

You missed an important one! I guess he thought he might not do better in the FA market. He could be traded here, right?!?

Yeah I looked up his stats and this is the 2nd season in a row he has shot the 3 poorly which is one thing that he usually brought some value in. I think he can still be a worthwhile player (everything else is basically the same) but it's likely he would have likely been looking at the vet min if he opted out. It would not be surprising if he was traded but the value would be if it helps facilitate a deal because of his salary.

Thanks for starting this thread, kek. Nice to have a fresh thread devoted entirely to what currently going on with the draft, trades and free agency. I’ll be lookin got this thread for breaking news on Giannis. If we wake up tomorrow with no announcement on Giannis I’ll up my odds of him coming here. :)
