Sixers fans took that as a sign he’s going to Philly, but LeBron put that idea to rest dismissively and almost brutally by saying: “I’ve been saying ‘trust the process’ since I was drafted in, like, 2003. I don’t know if Embiid was even born yet. “Mnwild1128 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 17, 2026 4:13 pm I think he is coming to the wolves cause he is quoted as saying he wants to go to a team that trusts the process. LeBron’s not going to the Sixers. He’s not going back to Cleveland. He went back once to reclaim his reputation and I don’t think he wants to go back there a second time.
I think he’s going to Miami or Minnesota. When he talks about going to a franchise that “practices championship habits every day” I see the words “Miami Heat culture.” The Heat franchise really does have a winning culture LeBron’s alluding to. It starts with Pat Riley and finds expression on the court through Spoelstra. The just haven’t had the personnel to turn that culture into championship contention in a long time. But they’re already a much better team with Giannis. Moreover, Giannis clearly embodies that championship ethic LeBron was referring to and I suspect Bam does as well. LeBron apparently liked living in Miami. He can certainly play golf there all winter. I still see the Wolves as the best basketball fit for him and a better bet than the Heat to compete for a championship. I also see the Wolves as a better choice than the Heat to indulge his interest in leadership and mentorship. So I’m still picking Minnesota, but that might reflect my bias. I suspect he would just feel more comfortable with older vets like Giannis and Bam while playing again for a familiar head coach, Spoelstra, back in Pat Riley’s Heat culture.
I should add that LeBron probably looks at the Warriors as having that championship culture he’s talking about with Curry, Green and coach Kerr. I suspect Klay Thompson would return to the Warriors if LeBron goes there. But I think LeBron still wants to compete for a championship and not just sign with a franchise with a championship culture. And he’s smart enough to know the Warriors have a very slim chance of competing for the title next season even if Klay Thompson returns.

Yeah. The only reason i don't think he is going to Miami is cause he already been there and done that. Plus in my opinion they are really going to have spacing issues/clogged lanes. I would leave Davion wide open and cheat in the lanes. Bam and Giannis defenders already going to be there. Lebron is slightly below average from three. Wiggins is slightly above average. I think it would be much harder work for him than the wide open fast/transition offense we are going to experience this season. I think he would get alot of easy layups here as the third offensive option on weak side cutting to the hoop as Rudy goes out on strong side to set screens.Lipoli390 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 17, 2026 8:53 pmIt’s funny how Sixers fans reacted when they heard about LeBron saying: “I want to join a franchise that kind of shares the same motto as myself and that’s practicing championship habits every day, but trusting the process more than anything . . ..”. Lol. I wonder how many players and executives have seen LeBron’s top 3 list? I honestly don’t think he’ll sign here, even though I boldly predicted yesterday that he will, but my honest assessment has nothing to do with Ant’s little fib about seeing a list.Crazysauce wrote: ↑Sat Jul 18, 2026 2:18 pm https://x.com/i/status/2078535032633978962

Let's say that's true and Edwards has seen the top 3 list. I think it would be kinda fun/funny if he had seen the list and the Wolves aren't on it. Like IDK that seems like a pretty insider thing to have access to for a young guy like Edwards.Lipoli390 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 18, 2026 5:24 pmLol. I'll just add something here that is probably obvious and I know others like Lip have seen it before but attending Summer league again this year it becomes so apparent how much the NBA and basketball is a bunch of people with relationships. You see former players chill'n as agents or coaches or people working in some sort of basketball operations. You have people scouting from all over the world sitting next to each other having conversations about all kinds of stuff not just about basketball. There are former players just coming to hang out and see guys play and see other people they know etc. Parents of players with personal connections to various people in this group of people too. It's also obviously competitive too but these people out there are also people. Some of them actually like each other. You can see how some people move from one basketball org to another. I heard no less than 5 times someone tell someone we gotta get you over to our side or team or whatever. If you are a video coordinator for a team you are probably gonna bond with someone else on the staff you are spending a ton of time together. These guys have other interests too. When Tim Connelly was on with Dan B the other day he was watching the Wold cup and was pretty into it.
To bring it back to Lebron he has been in the league for over 20 years. He has connections everywhere. Whatever roster/team he picks he is gonna have plenty of knowledge about that situation.
Re: LeBron Sweepstakes
I dont think Ant meant he saw an actual list by LeBron. I think he was referencing the latest Twitter/X fodder that was going around.
He has been one to pay attention to any media slight against him and the team.

Ha, his trash talking while making his way out of the arena and then walking the streets back to his hotel after the Wolves knocked the Lakers out of the playoffs last year was soooooo good.
