I have it on good authority that Michael Floyd was at Cooper's (bar) in West End (St Louis Park) drinking red wine the night of the positive test, and he took an Uber home.

The good part is, he's learned not to drink and drive, the bad news is, he's a liar who just ruined a promising career. More importantly on a personal level, he has a drinking problem and needs to seek help.

I'll be curious what kind of money Decker got.

Did anyone else see the new WR coach was basically fishing about Jarius Wright? Some people will say he is doing that to drum up trade interest. That seems unlikely that a brand new WR coach that's never been at the NFL level is tasked with talking up some decent vet so a team will deal a 7th rounder for him or something. He always seems like he has been plenty worthwhile even his rookie season. He is a legit 4.4 guy and plenty athletic but he is a smaller guy.

Thanks for the info. I saw a comment after a story on 1500 ESPN website that had similar info. I wonder if the authorities in Arizona are doing any digging into this matter.

My biggest take away is that Treadwell might be legit. People get so hung up on how he struggled last year and had only one catch and...how could this guy contribute when he had such a bad rookie season? So...how is he not more ready/prepared than a rookie WR? I'm not saying I expect him to be some awesome player but it's like people literally can't get past what he did and didn't do last year and to some extent IMO having unrealistically poor expectations for him this year.

It's not like the Vikings lost some awesome starting WRs from last year. They lost CP and CJ and neither distinguished themselves. Jarius Wright is probably a better (or at at least equal) to one of those guys as an all around receiver. Why wasn't he active? He isn't a factor on special teams. He is a smaller guy so he might not be as good as some of their other athletes on coverage units. He doesn't seem to be good in the return game. I listened to a podcast that had Kluwe on it and he had some worthwhile insights especially on the return game and what makes a good PR and KR.

Could the Vikings improve the known talent at WR especially if Floyd moves on? Sure. There are probably a few vets out there right now they can sign and there will be more as some guys get cut when we get to teams starting to cut down their rosters. I think the group we have now looks pretty good but there will always be some decent vet WR available if a couple guys fall flat on their faces. Decker would have been a nice get though if he can stay healthy. His base contract is just under 4 million but he can earn a decent chunk in incentives.

I think the key with Treadwell was just not banking on him to be legit. If he beats out guys in training camp he beats them out. That's a good thing. But if he doesn't with the current crop we are looking at another ok but nothing special receiving core of Diggs, Thielen and Wright. That leaves little room for error or injuries.

Yep. They did go out and got Floyd...which at this point looks like it won't give them anything. However maybe Treadwell has shown them more than they expected to this point. What if one of the other young players they have had on their PS etc have really progressed? Every year a bunch of vet receivers get dumped because teams find younger players and often it's because those guys can or are more willing to contribute on ST. Depending on how some of these young guys work out Signing Floyd...then having him not work out and dropped could end up being sort of a positive. It's only offseason workouts so well will see. We haven't even got to preseason where Hank Baskett was supposed to be the next...whatever. :) It's a young relatively unproven group but I think there is some talent throughout their roster. Like I said...we will see.

Vikings roster ranking came in 12th. Pretty soild.
http://www.espn.com/nfl/insider/story/_/id/19711822/ranking-rosters-all-32-nfl-teams-2017-pro-football-focus

12. Minnesota Vikings

Biggest strength: While Harrison Smith's play dropped slightly in 2016, he remains one of the league's most complete safeties. He earned strong grades against the run and in coverage in 2016 and had nine total pressures on the blitz.

Biggest weakness: Brian Robison has been a productive pass-rusher throughout his Vikings career, but he had only 49 total pressures in 502 passing snaps last season and was outplayed by Danielle Hunter over the season, especially against the run.

By the numbers: First-round pick Laquon Treadwell played just 79 total snaps all season and was targeted only three times as a rookie. The Vikings' 2016 rookie class made little impact, and the team needs those players to step up in Year 2.

Rhodes's rating seems low. He was shutting down big names week after week. I thought he would have ranked top 5 in the league last year.
