Raptors in 6? I'll fully admit I'm flat out surprised.
Edit: I forget about Danny Green. Having guys like him and Kawhi who have won championships and other guys like Ibaka and Lowry that have been playing deep in the playoffs for years likely makes a difference.
Yep. Playoff experience was the difference. Milwaukee is the slightly more talented team. But Toronto had lots of playoff savvy.

I just think it's another example on how important shooting is in the NBA. Another reason why I don't want Tyus back.
They just left Bledsoe and Bledsoe is a far superior player than tyus.
And even with Giannis being a stud, loading up on him because of his lack of shooting also killed the bucks

The Bucks achieved the best record in the NBA and made the Eastern Conference Finals with Bledsoe. So I'll worry about the 3-point shooting of Tyus Jones once the Wolves have at least made the playoffs and even then not until we're at least a top 4 or 5 seed.
A couple more points.
First, the Bucks best player, Giannis, is a terrible 3-point shooter at around 25% and a terrible foul shooter. Both shortcomings were in full view in last night's gave 6. In contrast, KAT excels in both categories as a 40% 3-point shooter and 83% free-throw shooter. So KAT doesn't create the same vulnerability as Giannis on the offensive end.
Second, Tyus hit 38% of his threes in college. I think he can improve his NBA 3-point shooting with more playing time and more consistent minutes. Keep in mind he's still only 23 years old.
I'm not necessarily advocating that we re-sign Tyus. That depends on how much we'd have to pay him. I'm just suggesting that Milwaukee's situation says nothing about whether we should re-sign him. And whether we re-sign Tyus should be the least of the Wolves concerns right now. The Wolves need at least one more, preferably two more, all-star caliber players around KAT. Then we can worry about Tyus and other role players.

As for the Bucks - First, their star player, Giannis, has to do better than 50% from the free-throw line in game 6. He left 5 points at the line last night. Second, the team's second best player and best 3-point shooter, Kris Middleton, has to step up with more shots and better shooting than he displayed the last two games. Third, they need their stretch 4, Mirotic, to play more than zero minutes as he did last night. Finally, they need more playoff seasoning. Toronto is a very good teams with a lot of playoff seasoning. Then there is the old cliche that the team with the best player generally wins in the playoffs. Well, as good as Giannis is, there should be no doubt that Kawhi is better. He was the best player on the floor throughout this series. He's a better ball-handler, better shooter, and just better all-around player when he's healthy.

Lets talk a bit about Bledsoe. He was voted 1st team NBA defense. I'd especially be interested in Cool's thoughts* on whether than was deserved or not but anyone can chime in. Bloedsoe clearly has the physical tools to be a really good defender but hasn't had the rep as one for a while...although he was playing in a basketball wasteland for a few years.
*Sorry Cool it sucks the Bucks lost.
As for his shooting being a problem...I didn't watch this series and he isn't a knockdown shooter. He took quite a few during the season over 4 a game and that rate went up in the playoffs overall. The problem was that he shot the 3's about 10 percentage poijnts lower in the playoffs. Is that an indication that he sucks as a shooter or isn't good enough or that he is to some extent and also had a bad few games shooting that shot? He was really efficient this season and was less effective int he playoffs but alot of guys are. Meanwhile Giannis is a guy that isn't a shooter either. In theory the Bucks have plenty of shooting to counteract that. Every big they put on the floor other than Giannis is a jack them up dude. Plenty of other good shooters when they put guys in on the perimeter. I'd guess is Bledsoe is the guy they got thsi season for the rest of the newly signed contract they gave him they will be THRILLED. It was his first year with Bud he might be better next year as long as age doesn't catch up with him like it does with a lot of PGs.
Tyus Problem isn't just about whether or not he can hit 3's its being a threat to score period. Bledsoe can get you buckets. I'd assume he is still a very good transition player. Tyus has to find ways to make a team bend to his will. Rubio had some of that ability even if he couldn't score. He could dribble and probe and then make passes to create things. The problem is that when things get tighter like it would be in the playoffs that's gonna be harder to do. Tyus is more of a pure PG than Bledsoe as a guy that makes passes plays for others with whatever he has so that's a positive but not enough to be an the same stratosphere overall as a player like Bledsoe. I think we would agree the easiest path for Tyus to be a MUCH more effective player and maybe even a legit starter would be at least a knock down open 3 point shooter. Its not impossible for that to happen but as much as I'm a Tyus fan I would not exactly bank on it. I personally don't think there is gonna be team that comes in and offers him a bunch of money...and when I mean a bunch of money I mean 7 million+ Meanwhile depending on how the drapf plays out I could see him wanting to stay here long term. This is home and he is a Ryan Saunders guy and part of this whole thing that was part of Flip's vision. He might be willing to take a bit less to stick it out here. Teague is his fan and isn't gonna be around past year year most likely so there could be an opportunity. Are other teams gonna value him over paying some decent money for the Rubio, Corey Joseph types? Maybe they throw a bit over money hoping Tyus could even become one of those types on a pretty decent contract? idk I find it hard to say this because I WANT Tyus here but I think the market can make the decision easy. I felt that way last year about Bjelica who we could likely have easily kept based on the money he ended up getting. I want Tyus back as a backup with a decent contract as a young guy with a bit more potential yet to turn into something more. We need a PG long term and may need as many shots as finding it as possible.

It suprises me how much Tyus gets discussed on here, his play up to this point should signify he's an inconsequential part of this teams future.

Better than non-stop draft talk for me

I think people are really afraid that if they can't keep local talented players here, who can they keep?
I agree, Tyus shouldn't be back. Neither should Rose, Bayless or Teague. Until what happened to his mom, I don't think Tyus wanted to come back anyway.

The guy is shooting 7 - 44 (16%) in the past two playoff series. He's 6th on the team in minutes in the series.
I think he read your post.
Ya think? VanVleet finished the series shooting 14 - 17 (on three pointers) over the final 3 games.
I guess we now know why Nick Nurse stuck with him in the rotation despite the backup guard sucking balls for 3 weeks...
What a turnaround!

Toronto was a good defensive team, but having a guy like gasol anchor that defense has made them great.
