Isn't Hamilton a restricted FA, thus not available as part of draft day deal?

I would hope we would try and package whoever we can to move up. I would have Dieng, Payne, AB all and those picks to try and move into the top 20. I would take Portis over any of those 3. I could also see going after Jones.

I'm not sure I'd cut bait on Dieng just yet, especially to try and land a mid first round pick. Let's not forget the guy has been a workhorse for us and productive on the offensive end with tools that allow him to be an above average defender. Just get him in the weight room and try and break some of his bad habits.

Trading Dieng right now I think would come back to bite us. Right now his floor is a big man version of Corey Brewer. Dieng's trade value is unlikely to go down anytime soon you better get a pretty worthwhile player or talent back for him if you trade him.

There might still be hope. If there is anyone needing KG's Magic Mentoring Potion ©, it's Gorgui Dieng. He's long and narrow like KG. And while he certainly isn't as athletic as KG once was, KG has been in "old man" mode now for about 5 years and is still effective defensively.

There are three things Gorgui does which are big defensive no-no's and should be correctable:
1) Leaves his feet too often, which is easily exploited by the offense;
2) Plays with his hands down - most often when trying to draw a charge instead of walling up and making himself bigger. The end result is almost always a no-call or blocking foul. Gorgui rarely gets the charge call, nor should he even try given his length.
3) When guards penetrate the lane, he opens up his body (i.e. he faces east/west instead of north/south) to create a driving lane to the hoop, hoping that he can sucker the guard in for an easy block. But like his attempts to draw charges, this rarely works. NBA guards are usually too quick and athletic for Gorgui to get the deflection. So 1 out of 6 times he makes the highlight reel block (you know, the ones he slaps off the backboard) and the other 5 times it's a made layup.

My only issue is that you are talking about a 25-year old 3rd year player. Why weren't these habits broken earlier?

Am I too video game mode-ish with this idea, or is it conceivable that both second round picks could get us in the top-20, and then MAYBE that top-20 pick + Bjelica could get us in the top 10? I'm not at all suggesting that it is, obviously it comes down to team trade fit (Sacramento pursued a stretch-four?) and available prospects, but you expect your PoBO to cover all options.

If that was the case, I'd spend that top-10 pick on Cauley-Stein if he was available, but I don't think he will be. In that case, I'd go with Hezonja or Johnson.

Idk it's been quite a few years ago but Miller and Foye got us #4. :)

trading up to sacramento's pick seems interesting and they have done well with some later picks lately so they might like those.

Wolfson has pointed out as a possible destination that Ronzone is working for Dallas and may be a connection for NB what about a NB for #21 trade?

I don't think the Wolves have any super high assets going into this draft like they have had before but they have some pretty solid ones and getting that Kings 2nd rounder was something of value out of all those trades. It will be interesting to see what the mock draft looks like in a couple more weeks.

Watching some Combine stuff and they had a close up of Larry Bird. He is not aging well, I swear he is turning into Barbosa (Pirates of the Caribbean)!
