Nobody's doubting Wiggins. Quit changing the context of the debate. You actually can bring up concerns with players without "hating" or "doubting" a guy. What did Wiggins prove anyone wrong about after those 20 games? Most of the comments in that overblown thread was that he needed to get more aggressive and get to the hole and stop settling for jumpers. What happened as the season continued? Exactly that.
Take a chill pill. We're all Wolves fans, we're all hoping Wiggins is an all-time great, regardless of if we think he can get there or not.

Cam, you are certainly free to bring up concerns about a player. But when it is being brought up over and over again and throwing speculations to it as well. All the while ignoring the counter arguments then it just nitpicking.
The context here i believe is his motor, lack of 'fire in the belly' and killer instinct etc. The counter argument has been brought up several times regarding his 'role' as both the main perimeter defender and main option on offense. He is also playing near 40mins a night in many games and played all 82 games. This is a 19 year old rookie who's body is obviously not yet mature and deveoped to where it is supposed to be. I dont see paul george or kawhi sprinting down the court for their teams. I bring those two up because they are used as two way players like wiggins is.
I also made the argument that wiggins is such a gifted athlete that anything he does seems so effortless whether running, jumping, dunking, spinning and blowing by his defenders. He makes it look so easy and smooth.
What does 'fire in the belly' really means? Wiggins doesn't scream and holler when he plays. Doesn't talk trash or pick fights with players. He doesn't make hand gestures or make '3 goggles' when he hits a 3. He goes about his business in a quiet yet cerebral way.
Killer instinct? Wiggins steps up in the 4th. Keeps us in games a lot of times. Went toe to toe with the best player on the opposing team. He drew a high rate of fouls, almost at an elite level. How can one who lacks motor, fire in the belly, killer instinct drew as much foul as wiggins. He wasn't shy or afraid to mix it up inside.
Wiggins comes from a family with solid foundation. Both parents where athletes. His mother was a very good athlete in her sport. They grew up comfortably. He was brought up to play the right way and be respectful. He didnt have a chip on his shoulder because he was never cut from his high school team nor did he grew up in a bad neighborhood or in single parent home. You can tell from his maturity level that he is well grounded and raised to be the way he is now.
Feel free to bring up concerns about players but keep an open mind especially when talking about a guy who just won the rookie of the year and got better as the season went on instead of hitting the rookie wall like most do.

One interesting thing is how we always compare new young players to past great or good players. It's perfectly natural and human thing to do. Name an all time greatbthatvwas really like another all time great. Maybe some of the posters that have seen more of the greats can chime in but the reality is in my lifetime none of the great players really truly emulate another all time great. They are Duncan, Bird, Magic, Shaq, Kobe, MJ etc etc. they are all guy with enough uniqueness they are not the next whatever player except the next terrific basketball player in a line of greats in the sport. Nobody was expecting to ever see a player like KG when he came into the league. Durant has the length of a center the shooting of a sniper and ball handling of a guard. Magic was big enough to play center but he was a PG. Barkley was a 6'5" PF with a ridiculous array of skills and athletic ability. Every great player has some level of uniqueness that is unexpected.
I see Wiggins as a guy with the athletic gifts and rough tools to be nearly unguardable while also being a well above average defender. I am not sure what that package turns into when it comes to all-time greats but at this point I think like someone else says Wiggins is the least of the problems.
I don't have problems with the people bring up concerns about Wiggins. They have well founded and thought out points. Q for example is a guy that has tempered his excitement on Wiggins even though he likes him. That seems perfectly reasonable and I respect Q's takes a lot. On the other hand I've taken the stand (which I rarely do especially this early in a player's career) that I have seen enough out of Wiggins last year I believe he is gonna be a very good player for years to come. I am not worried about all this other stuff when it comes to him. I've seen enough to be convinced. My guess is that other people feel that way too. He isn't there yet but I believe he will get there. What about the other guys? I can't say yet but I want to believe.

If all goes well with Wiggins I just think he would be similar to KD in manors.
