That’s really interesting. I wonder why. I would have preferred to keep that slot open for one of our other Summer League guys.

All 2-ways can at max only be 50% guaranteed and most are non guaranteed. So there is so little downside. Why not lock him up and if someone plays well we can cut him. I mean Eric Paschall, AJ Lawson, McKinley Wright have all been given 2-ways in the past and were cut before the season.

Yep there is little downside to just signing him to the deal.

I remember Dane Moore saying before last season the Wolves were really excited about adding Nix. Listening to the comments from I think Hines he basically said the talent is there he just needs to be more consistent. The positives about Nix compared to some other players that could be signed to a similar deal (I'll say these positive things then he might look meh this summer lol).

He does have NBA playing experience although his first year after HS he only played 16 games in the G-league due to covid. I think it's likely he can defend and because of his physical attributes that some guys don't have he can guard multiple positions. There is probably some value in him already been on the roster for a season and learning from Conley. His 3 point shot isn't there percentage wise but he isn't afraid to get them up. At the G-league level they have seemed to have some success having guys become worthwhile or even good 3 point shooters down there. There has been some success at the NBA level with players exceeding what they have done before. Certainly not everyone but there are some positive signs in development from this franchise which has really struggled in that area for decades. In a recent video he said over and over again it was making others better. Let's see if he can be that type of guy in SL or make winning type plays.
