I agree, Kahns

Riley is old and probably wants to win as much as he can right now. The star of your franchise is on his last leg, getting a guy like Martin who is a capable starter would help give Wade rest throughout the season. The chances of a rookie being a key part of a championship team at 10 would be a steal. Unless they go with a more limited upside guy in Kamminsky.

C- Whiteside
PF- Bosh
SF- Deng
SG- Wade
PG- Dragic
That starting 5 if healthy can compete in the west let alone the east. Add a scorer like Martin on their bench and if the roster is healthy come playoff time they are a legitimate contender. I doubt a rookie will have the impact Martin will next year.

Or they see their team is breaking down and decide they need to start focusing on the future. We'll see. Riles likes his veterans.

I'd trade Bazz for 10 if the right guys are there and that gives Miami a known and young commodity. Turn Bazz into a Trey Lyles who could be the long-term starter at the 4 we need. I don't think Miami would take Martin for 10, but I think Bazz is a fit and he has youth. The one thing people don't mention with Bazz is does he want to come off the bench here beyond his rookie deal. His spot is blocked by the future of the franchise. He's a competitor. I don't think we can reasonably expect to keep him without issue moving forward if he never gets to start here. I think Lyles is just a solid all-around player. He probably isn't an all-star, but you never know and I think his upside is higher than Bazz's and his spot isn't blocked. Move forward with a Rubio/Lavine/Wiggins/Lyles/Towns or Okafor core. We'd have KG, Martin, Bud, Pek, Dieng and probably a vet backup PG as the veteran core place holding and supporting until our young core takes over.

Yeah, we have a problem if Lavine isn't ready to beat out Martin for the starting 2. I think he should be our day 1 starter. But our best tradeable assets are #31, #36 and Bjelica. So some combination of those along with one of our bench guys gives us some good ammunition. Will be very interesting to see what Flip can do.

You think Flip can pull it off? Would love to add another high end prospect in this draft.

I don't see why not. #31 is a very valuable chip. You don't have to commit guaranteed money and you can stash somebody in Europe. It's a more valuable piece than #30, or maybe even #25. Flip can probably get a 2nd lottery choice without giving up someone from our core.

To me if Martin and Bjelica along with 31 and 36 would be ideal if that's all we had to give. Martin is a good player and a nice piece to have, that being said I want as much minutes as I can for Muhammed and LaVine. They need to see the floor to improve their games. The only question is, how high can we move up and who is the target. I have a feeling the target may be Porzingis.

Don't know what thread to put this in, so I guess I will put it here. Chicago must be the hot bed for big time basketball players. The starting 5 coming out of Chicago would look like this:
C- Jahlil Okafor
PF- Anthony Davis
SF- Jabari Parker
SG- Dwayne Wade
PG- Derick Rose

I wonder what's in that Chicago water?

Oh, yeah? Good luck trying to beat the Minnesota team.

C: Cole Aldrich
PF: Mike Muscala
SF: Kris Humphries
SG: Alan Anderson

I saw on Twitter that Aldrich is open to coming home. I don't know what it would take but we gotta make it happen.

On a serious note his numbers look good rebounding blocks and a good FT shooter for say a bench true C. Has anyone watched him play recently? I'm sure he would be cheap.
