He hasn't even made it through half an NBA season yet. He has a limited but effective skill set. If you can get a more well rounded player you do it. If Pek is relegated to the bench with Lavine or Martin I don't see a scoring problem with the second unit.
We got lots of guys that can't make it thru a season.

Think his point was that Bazz is one of them, and unfortunately, Bazz is a bit of a one-trick pony.
If you can get a guy that helps your team's overall defense (WCS), then you do it. Bazz isn't untouchable.

The only reason why Bazz didn't play much his rookie year is because he was drafted an GM who regretted picking him and a coach who didn't trust him. Truth be told, you can say what you just said about ANYONE on the team! We lost 66 games last year! The idea however is construct a team and go from there. We can't be in asset collecting mode forever. If we stink again next year are we gonna be cooking up trade scenarios for Wiggins too?
Pek as far as I'm concerned shouldn't be factored in any way towards our future.

If WCS is the guy that's gonna help our defense, then Bazz isn't the guy who we should be trying to move. It should be the guy who was supposed to do that already and forgot everything he learned about defense, that guy being Gorgui Dieng. Don't deal the guy who's improving while keep the guy who isn't.

Guys like Kyle Korver, Jamaal Crawford are basically one trick ponies but they carved out really good careers as vital cogs on playoff teams. Not every player is gonna have all the tools.. what's important is to find those secondary players that can do one or two things really well and find a way to meld that in. Shabazz is that guy.

The fact that we were a 66 loss team means everyone but Wiggins is available for the right price. Your thought process that we shouldn't trade Bazz because of what he gives us on the court is flawed because he can't stay on the court. If you've given up on all future contributions from Pek then how can you be so pro Bazz when Bazz has missed a bunch of time due to injury himself? I don't see how that is fair logic. When you lose as much as we did last year you need to shoot for better assets instead of standing pat. A one dimensional player who's skill is one of the most replaceable in the league doesn't get untouchable status.

To be fair, Bazz can't shoot like Korver nor create off the dribble like Crawford. Both skills are used to help the overall team's offense. Bazz is useful, but not something you put on the top shelf and say "Nobody can trade me for it."

So you think Bazz is ok with being a bench player for the rest of his career? He's made that choice already and we are lucky enough to have that guy who falls in line with that role for a career long backup role? Crawford and Korver got starting opportunities before they fell back into their role playing roles and Korver still starts. You can always find secondary players. There's no reason you have to keep them especially if they can be flipped for a main piece. We need to be focusing on our starting 5, not worrying about our bench behind them.

I agree with all of this... but to be fair to Shabazz, he can post up which neither Korver nor Crawford can do, and he also has shown a lot of improvement over a short period of time.

Well I personally don't think there's anyone besides Wiggins worth putting on the top shelf here. But some players are worth keeping becuz of the improvement shown..
I wasn't trying to compare skill sets, only that all three have one that helps their team. When Shabazz was playing last year he often times looked the best most aggressive player the Wolves had. Let's not forget that.
