I wouldn't say he bounced around as he only played with the Rockets before the Wolves. He was actually a five star recruit, that committed to UCLA, but then decommitted and then decided to start his career in the G League. Going from high school to G League is tough as you look at high end draft picks Scoot and Jalen Green who both struggled their first year. Similarly, Daishen struggled at G League and Rockets at age 19, but his second year in G League at age 20 he was a star there, but he still struggled in Houston. Houston decided they had too many young projects (even TyTy Washington and Usman Garuba, recent first round picks, were let go) and brought in vets Fred VanVleet, Dillon Brooks, Aaron Holiday and Reggie Bullock and Coach Ime Udoka to try to win now. Nix was a casualty of that.
I will say if you go to the rockets Reddit, rockets fans think he is the worst player to ever put on a rockets jersey. Really funny to read through the comments when they cut him and when the wolves signed him
Kek, he did struggle and so of course fans get on him. But he made jump from high school and he shouldn't have played so much but Houston was in tank mode. Fans get on lots of Wolves too when they struggle. I remember Ant and Jaden both being bashed and belittled by fans in the prior forum. But this week, the improved 21 year old version of Daishen Nix was very impressive and outplayed Wendell Moore and 26 year old Matt Ryan. I know it was one game, but Nix was elite in his passing, shooting and played good defense and there may be something to tap especially given his age and our need for a young point guard. Also, he was a standout in the G League last year and so there is more to go on than one game. I have zero hope in Ryan being anything useful and my faith in Moore is on life support. Lots of tweets that Wolves need to cut Ryan and sign Nix. So I guess Wendell Moore and Matt Ryan are worse than the Rockets worst player.

Do we think DJ Carton was signed for the Iowa Wolves? Weird timing given training camp is almost done.

Absolutely, he was signed to be waived and brought back to the Iowa Wolves. I think you'll see other teams making some signings aimed at their G League. Chandler was just signed by the Nets and I'm sure they just want to have him in their G League.

Jaylen Nowell was cut by the Kings. Maybe he should try to get a gig overseas as the pay is better than the G League.

Another brilliant move this offseason by TC. Drafting Leonard, signing Shake, resigning NAW and Converting Nix over Ryan. All A plus moves by TC. I also think signing TB was a very good move. I love everybody on this roster except that I think Moore has to step it up in a big way soon or he's gone next year to make room for one of our two way players or our first round pick.

Edit: Even though I am happy with us signing Nix, I think Matt Ryan has been an upstanding guy and want to wish him well. I hope he can find another NBA job to latch onto or find an overseas gig, as I hope he has better options than DoorDash.

I'm stoked that we have three awesome two-way players. Does anyone know if another NBA team could poach one of them by offering a standard contract to one of them? Do we have any right to match another team's offer in such a case. If so, I'd feel good about leaving them on two ways. If not, I'd strongly consider moving Garza to a standard deal and also give some consideration to moving Nix or Clark onto a standard deal after waiving Moore assuming we can't trade him for anything.

As expected, the Wolves announced that they "waived guards D.J. Carton, Trevor Keels, Tyrese Martin and forward Matt Ryan." The former three might be headed to Iowa.
