What has happened that gives you even the slightest indication that Ben Simmons will play again for the Sixers? Or are you just ignoring all NBA reporting and a basing your take on absolutely nothing? He receives $16.1-million of his annual salary on October 1st, which means that Simmons can and likely will remain sitting out for as long as it takes until he's moved to another team.

Lastly, Simmons sitting out isn't even the worst thing him and Klutch Sports could do. Simmons could actually report to camp with a bad attitude and potentially cause further turmoil with the franchise similar to how Jimmy Butler behaved in Minnesota albeit not to that extent.

Correct, I'm basing it on absolutely nothing. That's what I do. I'm the most uninformed poster on the site.

I think you have some tough competition for that title, but you can't solve a problem without acknowledging it first so kudos for that after all these years... Answer my first question if you'd like to get back on track here.

Ask yourself what this is all about. It basically comes down to three words: 'I don't know". That's what Doc Rivers said when asked if Ben Simmons can be the point guard on a championship team. Is that so horrible that the two couldn't get together and somehow come to an understanding to move forward? Wouldn't that be better than shipping him out for $.50 on the dollar? If Morey could get a star player back in return (not saying he won't) it would be rather easy to make the trade. But with the absence of that option currently, I believe Morey may opt for patience, or even a reconciliation. No one really knows what Ben is thinking, because to his credit, he isn't playing this out in the media.

I don't think there is any question Simmons does not planning on reporting to camp with the 76ers. All I'm saying is that can change. And if I'm Morey I at least play this out for a while to try to get to a more advantageous position.

You're either forgetting, ignoring, or just unaware of key elements at play here. Doc Rivers' post-game comment isn't the only driving force for Ben Simmons wanting out of Philadelphia. It may not even be one of the top reasons, actually.

Daryl Morey tried to trade for James Harden before he was eventually dealt to Brooklyn. Reports indicated that Ben Simmons and Matisse Thybulle's agents were informed that a deal was done and that they'd be sent to Houston. In actuality, Houston's ownership held a grudge against Morey for leaving and did not want to trade Harden to Philadelphia resulting in the Rockets' front office never calling Morey back and finalizing a deal with Brooklyn. Why does this matter?

Simmons goes from being one of two key players and integral piece on an Eastern Conference contender to being told he's been traded -- essentially that they didn't think he was good enough. The trade never happens and then he has a poor playoff series and feels publicly dissed by his head coach and teammates after (Rivers, Joel Embiid, Danny Green). Add all of this up and you have a disgruntled star who has reportedly already met with Morey, Elton Brand, and Doc Rivers in Los Angeles to express that he is not returning to the Sixers under any circumstances. They were trying to mend open wounds and Simmons wanted no part of it. The relationship there is not fixable. The Sixers completely mismanaged Simmons and now they will pay for it dearly.

Cam, according to the NBA network the postgame comments by Doc and his teammates were the final straw. I suppose you could be a greater authority, but I doubt it.

ESPN Sources: Philadelphia 76ers All-Star Ben Simmons will not report for opening of training camp next week and intends to never play another game for the franchise. Simmons hasn't spoken to team since a late August meeting when he communicated this message to Sixers officials.

Simmons is clearly aware of sanctions available to organization to fine and suspend him, including withholding of salary. But so far, Simmons appears willing to carry out a plan of forcing his way to a new team. Sixers have yet to find a a trade they're willing to make for him.

Simmons is now liking all of D'Angelo Russell's Instagram posts, I can only assume a trade is imminent

Lol. That's probably as predictive as anything else any of us have mentioned. :)
