The Klay injury is very real, but you don't completely 180 your draft strategy because a guy gets hurt.

The problem for GM's trading up into the top pick was they were really putting their jobs on the line. I was thinking about that the other day. If the guy they pick busts the GM would get roasted for trading up and blowing the pick.

Yeah no kidding. This may be the best NBA story this year.

Nobody at #1 woulda changed that.
Drafting Wiseman or trading down would have been much better. I ranked Edwards 9th overall and that was before his terrible interview. Pretty much worst case scenario in my opinion.
I agree. I go back and forth on whether Ball or Edwards would have been a worse choice. In the end, Edwards is worse than Ball because he's the least tradable of the two. We're stuck with him and will end up trying to trade him for pennies on the dollar in a couple years.
By the way, not the emotion Wiseman is showing in response to being drafted #2. Not a shred of emotion from Edwards on being selected #1. I think I'm done as a Wolves season ticket holder.

I don't love the pick either (I woulda took Hayes), but this franchise had already told you how they wanna play and who they're betting the franchise on. Y'all have two choices: be guarded in your optimism or watch from a distance with no real attachment to the team, like me.

I was already on the Fire Rosas train and with this move, I see very little chance, I'll jump off. There is plenty of room and look forward to seeing more of you hop on.

So Ball would have been better? Looks like the best they could do in a very weak draft. If there was a viable trade they would have made it.

There are a lot of things he'll need to do, starting with effort on defense and shot selection, and I also don't like the way he fades with his feet on his jump shots, but the Wiggins comparisons are unfair to Edwards.
[list]
[*] Wiggins still can't dribble as well as Edwards already can.
[*] Edwards is quicker with pull-ups and step backs from range.
[*] Although there were times when Edwards was disengaged last year, he showed real flashes of effort, spirit, and joy in which he was totally engaged. He's shown the ability to kick it into another gear. Wiggins, by contrast, is kind of a zombie player in the sense that he coasts on his talent 100% of the time--there's never been much character or personality or extra effort there.

I'm with you, I bet he was wishing for GSW.
No. I think he's a guy who isn't passionate about playing basketball and it shows in the way he reacted to bing the first pick in the NBA draft.
Could be a bit of both. But if he didn't care about basketball then wouldn't he be happier being 1st overall and getting more money?
