6.3 vs. 5.5, however, KAT was averaging about 6.6 FTAs in the four seasons prior to Rudy's arrival when he was a full-time Center like he is now with the Knicks. His FTAs took a dip once Rudy arrived and he played more PF. Now he is almost exclusively the sole big in Thibs' rotation.Coolbreeze44 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2025 1:14 pm Haven't paid much attention to KAT this year. I'm curious how his FT numbers per 36 compare to his Wolves tenure.

Golden State has been right on our heels. Last night Draymond returned to action but left after 3 minutes with a calf strain. He will have an MRI, but I would expect him to miss significant time.
And late in the game Curry left with a sprained ankle. I suspect he will miss some time as well.
Just keeping an eye in the rearview mirror!

That team knows better than anyone what it takes to win a title and they all know they don't have what it takes, even if healthy. I wouldn't be surprised if these injuries take longer than expected to recover from....60WinTim wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2025 10:12 am Golden State has been right on our heels. Schroder and Looney are on expiring contracts. I'm not sure why I want SloMo back, but he is certainly one of the missing ingredients from last year's team.

Detroit wins @ Houston! Impressive.
Re: Around the League - '24-25 Season
Huge win for Detroit - and the Wolves. If the season ended today, the Wolves would get Detroit’s pick this year. It’s top 13 protected this year and the Pistons are tied with the Wolves and Heat for the 14th worst record in the NBA. Interestingly, the Wolves an help their cause (getting Detroit’s pick) by tanking. Normally, a team tanks to improve the position of its own draft pick. But in this case, the Wolves (without their own 1st round pick) can increase their chances of getting Detroit’s pick this year by losing and finishing with a worse record than the Pistons. That’s worth thinking about for just a few seconds. The Wolves have the same record as the Pistons more than half way through the season and help secure a first round pick from another team by losing. Who would have predicted it?

How quickly things change... and stay the same.
One year removed from the WCF and four months from preseason championship hopes...
... and we're right back to the latest Promise of Hope campaign. It's what the Timberwolves do best.
[Note: Seriously, two WCF appearances... both followed up by entirely underwhelming campaigns. Hopefully, this one doesn't lead to another 14-year playoff drought.]

Not sure I would go that far Abe. Prior "hope and change" campaigns were 30-win seasons or much worse. I think of this as more of a competitive re-build. Also, there is a 5-year age difference between when KG went to his first Conference Finals and when Ant did.AbeVigodaLive wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2025 9:21 am How quickly things change... and stay the same.

And finally, the season isn't over yet. While I don't see us competing for a title, I'm not completely ruling out a winning record and perhaps a little bit of noise in the playoffs. Still a lot of games to be played and levers that Connelly can pull.

Yeah... maybe a hyperbolic statement from me.
Just more of a commentary that there seems to be as much genuine excitement and anticipation about a random upcoming draft pick as what's actually happening on the court this season.
