I agree. I like the idea of Perkins. He has some grit to him and is expiring. If someone pushed Wiggins around it would be nice to know we have an enforcer on the court. We could see if he is a fit to bring back at a lower price.

Excellent point Bleed. I don't like Perkins, but he would be a good piece on this team.

Except for the part where he won't see the floor as soon as Pek comes back moving Dieng to the bench and Perkins to the suit life. Enforcing from the bench just leads to techs and suspensions. I don't think Thad opts in. He can get more total money on a better team than stay in a bad situation for one more decent pay year. Get someone who makes sense. A 9 million dollar center who is going to ride the pine doesn't help this team in any category other than cap space next offseason which is useless anyway. Ricky's raise takes up most if not all of the Thad/Perkins space right off the bat so it is not going to add really any flexibility people seem to be expecting.

Explain the difference between Perkins antics and KGs to me?

Looks like the trade has fallen through due to disagreement in the Nets camp about acquiring Stephenson. OKC aren't offering enough to interest them either.

Maybe OKC will look at Pek as an option. Good fit next to Ibaka and Adams is more than a capable backup if (when) Pek gets injured (again). Westbrook - Waiters - Durant - Ibaka - Pek is a pretty formidable lineup (when healthy).

Pek and Daniels/GR3 for Perkins, Lamb and 2nd.

Like I said, I don't like Perkins. But the big difference is he isn't going to run away as soon as someone takes him up on an altercation.

I would try to get PJ3 instead of Lamb. With Martin/Bazz/Lavine/Wiggins all being able to play the two I don't see much time or room for Lamb to grow on our team. PJ gives us another big body and is better suited to be a stretch 4 than anyone we have. I'd be fine dumping Thad if we had PJ3, Bennett and Hummel to man the 4. Otherwise I'm not willing to dump Thad without seeing Bennett in the starting role first. The last thing we can afford to do is dump Thad and have Bennett prove to not be ready for the extra responsibility. That would turn the existing dumpster fire into a full on forest fire with no ability to contain it.

instead he'll contribute next to nothing on either end of the court. While Kg may be a shell of his Ole self , he still plays great team defense , can still pass the ball, and hit a jumper from time to time . Perkins has nevery done any of those things. Be honest, objectivity is out the window on this one.
