It's certainly some of both. The turnover in front office and coaching doesn't help in that regard. This is all why having guys like J-Mac and Naz Reid look like functional NBA players that weren't even drafted gives me a little hope that this organization isn't completely inept in terms of talent evaluation and maybe even player development too. Vanderbilt has shown some promise in that regard as well. If they aren't able to develop Edwards that's gonna be a bad deal. I think he has real talent and has some Solid BBIQ too.

....but it's not like Derrick Williams, Wes Johnson, Jonny Flynn, Kris Dunn, and Justin Patton went on to be even better at their next franchises.

I wouldn't say they are good at player development (especially shooting), but the bigger portion of blame goes to their drafting.

That is true Q and I'm not saying we've not made massive draft mistakes. But starting off your career in Minnesota certainly doesn't sling shot your development. Kris Dunn would probably be twice the player he is today if say the Spurs drafted and developed him.

I don't think so. KG and KAT have developed just fine. KG went to Boston and was great there. If KAT ends up leaving he'll be great wherever he goes. Meanwhile, Dunn hasn't done much since leaving here. Neither did Wes Johnson, Derrick Williams, Justin Patton or Bazz. And it's not like Patton was here long enough to be destroyed by the terrible culture or poor player development. The fact is, this franchise has done a terrible job drafting talent. The Spurs wouldn't have drafted Kris Dunn. The Warriors would have drafted Wiseman, not Edwards, at #1. I can't imagine another team trading up for Culver; obviously, the Spurs didn't.

I voted Okogie, but that simply reflects the low quality of the Wolves picks. My vote was based on performance to date. If I were to vote based on projection, I'd join Q in voting for Nowell. My next pick would be McDaniels. Like Cool, I see the talent there. But there's were reasons he dropped so far in the draft and I'm afraid we're going to see those reasons play out at some point down the road.
