Wolves best draft pick in the last 5 years

Post by kekgeek »

I was thinking about how bad the wolves have picked over these last 5 years. Like it is kind of amazing. I'm in no way giving up on Edwards but holy shit has it been bad. Is Kris Dunn the best Wolves pick the last 5 years?

I voted Kris Dunn. I think Edwards can pass him easily but it hasn't been good so far. Dunn and Okogie are very similar to me. Both good defensively and both are bad offensively. I went with Dunn just because I think he is a tier above Okogie. I think Okogie is more value on where he was picked but I would take Dunn over Okogie.

It is so depressing looking at our last 5 drafts.

Its crazy. Of the Wolves last 9 picks none would start on a good team. I think only Dunn and Okogie and possibly Edwards could be in the rotation on a good team. Patton, KDB, Balmero, Nowell, Mcdaniels are all out of the league or 2-way end of the bench players. It really sad and at the end of the day that is why the wolves are where they are at today.

I think if Saunders increases having Edwards stand in the corner by another 20% he will come around

I took McDaniels based on expected value. I think he will become a solid rotational player if we don't ruin him. You could make a case that all the rest were taken too high.

And this my friends is the #1 reason the franchise sucks. No matter who is in charge. No matter who the coach is. No matter who our scouts are.....We are the worst-drafting franchise in the history of sports. It's just littered with busts, mediocrity, and disappointments, with basically three great picks sprinkled in among the wreckage.

The one guy I still sort of hold out some hope for is Nowell. I actually think he has an NBA shot and an NBA mindset. Unfortunately, he isn't the athlete of the likes of Edwards, Okogie, or Culver so I'm not sure about his ultimately upside. But just watching a guy play with composure and being able to stroke the open J with confidence while actually trying hard on defense would be a sight for sore eyes!

They could have had theSP but nooooo. He'd still be the worst player on that list by a long mile, but he'd be cheap!
