I have not seen or heard that. May be I'm a bit slow this morning, but I can't figure out how that nickname relates (?).

He seems to be raising all the other ships, as Kahns and a couple others have noted.

Wolves ranked 13th in the league in Opponent eFG%. This is a BIG deal for a team that has struggled in preventing made shots for 10+ years now. It's the #1 reason this team is playing .500+ ball. We'll see if they can keep it up.

Interesting stat. I agree with you. Credit the coaching staff for changing the defensive scheme and motivating guys to play defense. Okogie has been a big reason for our ranking, but Wiggins has also been a major factor. Towns still has some bad defensive habits, like back-peddling, but he seems better defensively. Overall, we're guarding the 3-point line much more aggressively and that's obviously by design and as stark contrast to Thibodeau who was obsessed with mid-range shooting on both sides of the ball.

Wiggins motor has really brought the opponent eFG% down.

I absolutely think the scheme has had a major impact. The switch everything defense makes it much easier to guard the 3 and the drop coverage by our bigs makes it easier to protect the rim. Now that teams aren't hitting an unusually high % of their mid-range/long 2s against us, things are getting better.

Adding a guy like Graham helps too in addition Covington being able to play most games even at a lower amount of minutes helps too. They have had some challenges with personnel but there are some guys helping them this year that didn't last year. Okogie makes development and impact on that end looks legit now.
