Opponent eFG%
This is by far one of the most important metrics for this team. We currently rank 16th in the league, which wouldn't be a big deal for most other teams. But the last season we ended better than this was 2006-07! And we were in our usual spot in the bottom 5 while you-know-who was still here, so in the last couple of weeks, we have surged in this metric. RoCo and Saric have been major upgrades defensively.

16th doesnt do it justice.
With jimmy, we were 26th this year in efg%. Post Jimmy we've been second and climbing.

Just saw this from the St. Paul Pioneer Press of all places.
League rank since the Butler trade (9 games total):
DRtng: 1st
Points Allowed: Tied for 1st
Opponent FG%: 1st
Fast-break pts allowed: 1st
Paint pts: 1st
Steals: 2nd
Amazing stuff. My biggest concern is whether they can keep up this level of intensity while limiting the rotation to 9 guys.

Wow. That is impressive and if Okie gets more burn as he should then we'll stay at #1.

It's clear to me that this team needs to get better in steals...

We will come back down to earth a bit. We have been riding an easier schedule and the scouting reports will eventually catch up to how best to play this new look Wolves team.
But even coming back down to earth, we will clearly be light years ahead of where we have been for more than a decade!

I suspect you're right that we will likely come down to earth. But I read somewhere (maybe here?) that the teams we have played A.R. (after Rob) have actually ranked quite high offensively (as opposed to the teams Philly has played A.J.). Lends some support to the hope that this defensive resurgance may be real.

Agree Tim, but it does feel like something has fundamentally changed, like perhaps they are FINALLY finding an identity and taking pride in it. You can never really commit to something until it's internalized and the motivation comes from within (yeah, I just said that. PM me if you would like to discuss my motivational speaking business and price list).

I like that you set us up for excitement first, then slammed us with the bad news at the end!

Yes, kind of anticlimactic. I blame Wiggins.
