Monster - I like your genius angle. Lol. I agree with you completely that we're stuck unless Gupta can work his magic. I don't think Wiggins' problem is confidence, unless you mean too much of it. He has multiple problems, starting with a lack of competitive zeal and continuing with a low basketball IQ. The list also includes a lack of self-awareness or ability to self-critique along with an arrogance that resists the critique of others. I look forward to the day he's gone from this team. But I'm open to being shocked by a magnificent turn-around from Wiggins this season. Otherwise, bring on Batum. :)

How about this...we agree that we think Wiggins problem with being underwhelming is mostly mental. And saying the source of his problems being mental ones is...multifaceted. I'm still on the bandwagon of Wiggins returning to being a decent volume scorer (and not much else) instead of the terrible offensive Player he was last season. That will give Gupta something to work with. Lol

He's definitely being coddled by the new regime if he's not benched by the new year.

What are we supposed to do? Not post about anything?

He's basically holding the team hostage... Again. Until the Wiggins situation is resolved, he's the story. It's unprecedented in NBA history for somebody THAT bad to be paid THAT much. And sadly, it could become for THAT long.

You can be upset about the threads. But he remains the most compelling thing about this time right now. Or 2nd most. The KAT out of the bag angle has legs, too.

I mean it's not like we keep running you over while reminding you that you were the last holdout on the Wiggins Hopewagon.

I'm hardly upset, and could you be any more passive-aggressive with this post?

I'm in exactly the same place as you, Monster.

I don't remember the Kawhi Leonard comparisons, but I do remember it going from Tracy McGrady to Paul George to DeMar DeRozan and then to Rudy Gay -- and the truth of the matter is that he has never been at the level of those players.

Sad that we all recognize Wiggins failures as a player but realize this team only gets better if he does. Which makes him equally valuable to Towns.

We realize this team only gets better if he does because his bloated salary is severely handicapping this roster from adding other pieces that can actually make the team better -- whether that's by adding one player actually worthy of a max contract or two players that can provide defense and perimeter shooting to support Towns.

His atrocious play is bad enough, especially when you consider the gifted physical tools he has, but when you combine it with his max contract it is a franchise killer.
