Wiggins just needs to shut up and play. He's talked more than enough without actual production.
Re: Another Wiggins Thread
Hit more shots, everyone will be happy. I think this is the reality of his existence on this team since he got here. If he can't develop consistency in scoring he will eventually be a bench player that you only ride if he looks hot.
I wonder what the personal issue was that the author mentioned? Sounds mysterious.
Ryan reminds me so much of Flip in the things he says. Not sure it will ever translate to the court, but no one could say we didn't try the player friendly approach with our head coach.

When his next contract offer doesn't even hit half his current salary maybe then he'll realize his place in this league.

That player-friendly approach goes all the way up to Rosas. I've never seen a franchise -- especially this franchise -- go so above and beyond in trying to create a family-like atmosphere. The three day vacation to the Bahamas was nuts. While all of that has value, to the extent of which is unknown, but I feel like ownership/management potentially sacrificed higher talent for getting "good guys" in all vacant positions this off-season.
We'll see if any of that means anything on the court, but premium talent doesn't always come with a likable personality. And in the business of winning basketball games I want the best collection of talent that can be assembled.

It's hard to know what's going to work with this generation of kids. They're collectively more cerebral and present their emotions more readily expressed from what I can tell. I think Towns' generation of players really reflects that. I thought this article was really interesting just from the generational aspect:
https://www.slamonline.com/nba/dangelo-russell-devin-booker-and-karl-anthony-towns/
Players are coming in with so many distractions. I think the pure ahole, kill you at all costs star is more and more of an anomaly. Which is why Embid and Giannis seem to stand out as unique of the younger players on the rise. I totally agree with you that performance and talent should reign over personality traits, but I think there is a genuine struggle for teams to figure out how to motivate this generation to be ruthless on the court. Because there seems to be a lot of really talented young players who just can't put it together to winning yet.

If the consensus is that he isn't very good and isn't likely to improve, shouldn't these threads die out or become extinct? I mean when you run over a raccoon in the road, you don't stop, back up, and run over it again.

Fair point, however, Wiggins sometimes brings these threads on himself. He said there wasn't 100 players better than him. I think most people with an objective view of him would argue that he's right -- there's at least 200 players better than him.
At least he has his max contract, though.
Re: Another Wiggins Thread
The fact that Wiggins believes he's in the top 100 guarantees that he'll never improve significantly. Saunders needs to bring this guy off the bench. The only thing we haven't tried is humiliating him.
Re: Another Wiggins Thread
Do we really need another Wiggins thread? Of course not. Does Wiggins deserve another thread worth of abuse? Absolutely.
