They are not players you pay and risk not signing the core to this team.

Fair enough.

But I don't see the value of keeping both Dunn and Rubio if another team offers up a great bounty.

As two defensive-first PG types who struggle most with shooting... it seems sorta redundant to keep both. I know Dunn isn't ready right now. And would he actually have more value than Rubio?

Sure if someone offers a great deal on one of those guys great they aren't untouchable. What if you end up trading the wrong guy? Its possible the player/s you get back in the deal end up being backups. I just don't know what great bounty teams are going to give up especially for Rubio but if they do...sure at some point it's likely one guy has to go assuming Dunn becomes a good starting level PG.

That's the rub with any trade. There are very few trades you can make without risk (unless you're trading with Sacramento).

You have to look out 4-5 years when all the current stars are out of their prime while they are just entering theirs. How many other 21-23 year olds would you take over them at this point? Not many. It just seems really short sighted to act like you know how good someone will be at 21 when there are guys like Steph Curry who didn't really turn it on until after their second contract started, let alone by 21. Lavine and Wiggins are going to be a monstrous pair on the wings in a few years. They don't have to be all-stars by 21-22 for that to come true.

Thank you - well said.

Good take, I mean they would be seniors in college this year
