Now there is no realistic way to get love back because cavs are in win now. But I get so confused with ESPN coverage of love, why is he the problem, when it was love and lebron they were darn good. When kyrie came back loves numbers went to shit. Why dies kyrie a guy who can't ever stay healthy get no blame ever

You just have to bring in a third team to do it. Send Love here, Melo to Cleveland and our pick and Belly to NY. It'd have to happen in the off season after Martin opts out and KG retires to clear the cap space, but that's how a deal would get done.

A Melo for Love trade makes a lot of sense for the Cavs. Love would work great in the triangle and I could see him playing with KP. Knicks would have a solid big man rotation with Love logging minutes at Center and Lopez backing them up. I think Melo's only chance to win a championship is to play with LeBron. I could see those 2 making it work in Cleveland.

If we get a top 5 pick I definitely want to keep it over swapping for Love. If its later, I'm not sure. It would be nice to have another talented player on a rookie deal. If we have a later pick, I'd try to sign another max player without having to give up a draft pick. If we are unable to entice a top tier free agent, then maybe I'd consider it but there are some negatives to bringing back Love: poor defense, he might hamper the development of our young players and he will hurt our cap flexibility when we might want to keep and resign KAT, Wiggins, LaVine and Dieng.

How do you figure that? I'd agree with you IF Love was a black hole on offense, but he's far from it. I'd also agree with you IF Love couldn't stretch the floor or rebound, but he's elite at both. He'd greatly help the development of our young players in that he can be leaned on for offense instead of just Towns, Wiggins and LaVine. That's too much weight to carry for three 20-year olds.

Also, he doesn't hurt cap flexibility. Assuming Bird rights don't go away, we'd still have cap to work with before re-signing the franchise piece(s).

I think it comes down to do you think you can build a better team off the pick and using the cap space on a free agent or if getting love is the answer. Would you rather have Dunn/Brown/Ellenson and Ryan Anderson/Batum or Kevin Love?

I really want to see an offense built around KAT and I just think Love would take usage away from him, Wiggins and LaVine. KAT is an elite rebounder so Love's elite rebounding wouldn't matter as much. Plus, Love won't help us defensively and I want any max guy that we sign to be a two way player. I would prefer signing a guy like Horford or Batum that are better defensive players that won't cost us a pick.

While getting ripped to shreds... Love is averaging 16/11 for a team on pace for 60+ wins.

This is a guy who averaged 26/13/4 for a .500 club.

If the #3 or #4 or # 5 pick in the draft ever comes close to matching those numbers... it's a great pick. The odds are against that happening though.
