It's another to constantly spew all the other unnecessary BS as I previously mentionebout how d, that doesn't add anything to the discussion.
How come it doesn't add anything to it? Flip is the boss and the coach. We are talking about the style of play we want to see our team play and the identity of the team moving forward. Flip has a certain style and philosophy. He is the only one who will determine whether he steps down or not as coach.
All this are related because he has the power to determine these things. Flip as a gm is fine by me. Flip as the coach and his style and philosophies are not what I think is best for the team and the players. The fact that he states he will step down IF the right candidate is there warrants a discussion by us on who that right candidate is in flips mind! And when is it possible for him to find that candidate.
If that is not reasonable to you then fucking skip over it!

I'm not talking about the simple fact we'd rather have a different coach, don't like his offense, his defense, etc. I'm talking about all the added BS, exaggerations, mockery, etc, etc that is CONSTANTLY spewed. That dead horse has been beat so damn much it's mush.
So thats what fucks you up? geez. The horse keeps getting fucking beat because it has not been fucking proven otherwise! If you dont like reading about it then dont fucking read about it!
Dude it pops up everywhere. Even threads not even talking about him. Freddie is choosing the Bulls over us. It sucks, but people talk like they know what's going on and none of that is proven either. It goes both ways and I tend to believe Flip is pretty honest when he's talking about things. He always seems to skate around question or give neutral answers. So when he says they reached out to certain coaches or that most coaches out there find that the team isn't quite ready for them to accept the job, I tend to believe it vs some conspiracy theory that he's milking it and wants to coach them long term, which he flat out said he's not and wants to find the right coach that will.

Dude seriously.. did you even read what I said 2 or 3 times? I'm NOT talking about discussing his strengths and weaknesses as a coach or GM (we actually see those things) or what we want to see done differently. I have no issue talking about coaching candidates and who he realistically might have in mind. I've joined all those types of discussions and they're fun until, people make a mockery of it or come with their conspiracy theories like the whole coaching search being a sham lie.
He also stated Friday that he wants to find a coach. He doesn't want to coach the team long term. He's doing so as a stop gap until he lands a coach on his list. Hoiberg definitely was on that list, probably Izzo, and Thibs too based on the fact he asked Chicago last summer for permission to talk to Thibs.

I'm not picking on any one poster, but the anti-Flip rhetoric has gotten carried away, His offense needs to be extended to the three point line, but it's not the worst offense ever concocted. His teams on this 2nd tour with the Wolves have been awful defensively, but he HAS had some good defensive teams in this career.
Fact is he's done more as a head coach and gone farther than the flavor of the day - Thibs. He's a very bright guy who isn't the greatest coach of all time, but you could do a lot worse. I'm not sure who could have gotten this Wolves team to do a whole lot better last year. Maybe Bill Musselman or the Wizard of Westwood himself.
Well put and I don't mind knocking his offense for lack of 3s or the bad defense, etc even if i don't always agree. Those are things we all witnessed. It's all the extra nonsense with little or no evidence that always has the same message. It's almost Fox News worthy sometimes lol..
The larger issue is that I don't want my personnel decision-maker to also be the head coach. Two minds are greater than one as well as time and being in one place at one time is another. Flip was able to watch Towns only one time this season, and it was a game where he played 13 minutes or something like that. He went overseas to see Porzingis and Bjelica only one time as well. I want Flip to see guys more than that. I want him to focus MORE on that end of the deal and let another high quality guy (Thibs, preferably) take care of the coaching aspect.
*When I mean "watch", I mean in person.
So, let's not get overemotional in Flip's defense. He has a nice coaching history and isn't clueless to the game. It's just that his system is outdated and coaching while making roster moves has already clouded his judgment in just one season. I'd like for that to never happen again.

When did I ever say something about conspiracy theory? My stand has been it might be very difficult and a LONG TIME for flip to "FIND THE RIGHT COACH IN HIS MIND" to replace himself. It turns into a semi discussion between cam and I on possible coaches and why we dont want them.
Get it straight. You come here and over reacts with your f words! Like I said, if it FUCKS you up so much then skip over it. I expect you to be active during the off season and early part of the season then fade away when things went south like you have been the last two seasons.

I couldn't agree more with your post. That is exactly the type of good discussion post that I wasn't talking about earlier. I'm just tired of all the added extracurricular nonsense. Maybe I'm just not explaining it well, I don't know. I'm frustrated with our coaching situation like others are. I'm just trying to be patient. As for Thibs, I was really thinking the Pelicans would come calling. Now that that didn't happen I wonder if he will actually sit out this coming season. If he does he might be a front runner come next summer.
Great point Cam on the decision making. I'll add to that a bit. Coaches in general don't focus as much on the big picture like the GM does. The Payne trade struck me as more of a Flip the coach type move over Flip the GM. Flip the coach needed a PF and was willing to trade a good future asset to fill an immediate need. I would hope that Flip the GM would have realized trading a nice asset for a team going nowhere and getting an older unproven commodity in return wasn't the best long term solution. You look at how Ainge turned a past it's prime old roster into multiple assets and a roster full of young guys. I worry Flip the coach won't want to part with vets now to obtain nice future assets. That's my concern with Flip being the coach.
To me Flip has done well as coach. Maybe not from a wins and loss standpoint and maybe not from a philosophical standpoint, but we saw improvement out of Wiggins, LaVine, and Muhammed. That is the key. It doesn't matter what scheme we run if we can't develop young talent and Flip has done a solid job of that.

I wasn't actually referring to you, World. I want a new coach too, but if there are no good ones that want the job right now then what do we expect Flip to do? I'd rather have him be a stop gap until other coaches want this job. If not this summer, then next summer this job could be the hot spot. I'm trying to be patient which isn't always easy with the Wolves.
As far as my activeness I've been dealing with a lot of personal shit for the past couple years. Sometimes I have less time and have to re-prioritize my time. I also I end up browsing and not responding sometimes or passing on certain types of threads.
