You saying jabari might post similar numbers is speculative and subjective. Not exactly the 'quality post' standard you throw around.

No more speculative or subjective as you saying Wiggins would have without a doubt won it even if Parker was healthy.

That's all my point was. Thank you, Grey.

Looks like Wiggins AND Parker will be great going forward. It's unfortunate that Parker's rookie campaign was derailed by injury. I wonder if him being healthy would have pushed Wiggins even more than Noel and Payton did.

I don't think there's much of a question. Although the Middleton situation (discussed above) might be one possibility for limiting Parker's expected improvement throughout the season.

My answer to the OP's question is "both". Yes, I expected Wiggins to be the ROY because the #1 pick should be the odds on favorite. Having said that, I also say he exceeded expectations. I was concerned about his tendency to be passive at KU, and as the season progressed, he was anything but passive. Like others, I appreciated the intensity and fearlessness he showed in dunking over shot blockers. Further, while I can't remember if we had a thread predicting his numbers for the year, I think he either exceeded (or would have exceeded) the consensus prediction. And that doesn't happen often on a board filled with rose-colored glasses homers like me!

Someone should dig that thread up. I believe I was very, very close to Wiggins and LaVine's numbers.

Remember in summer league when people were saying McDermott looked liked the best rookie? That was hilarious.

Cam and grey. Thats exactly my point as well. Cam says me being subjective in my posts hurt the quality of my post. I merely point out that he made exactly the same kind of post, he basically point a finger at himself when he was taking a shot at my post.

Wiggins did both...he did what a #1 pick is supposed to do, yet he exceeded my expectations in terms of how developed his game has been at such an early age.

Also, I'll throw a little love out to LaVine. This kid still has a ways to go, but he's definitely coming along better/faster than I expected too. The possible silver lining in Rubio being out so long is that it clearly helped speed the development and confidence of LaVine.

He exceeded my expectations as a scorer and a guy that could get to the line at an elite level, especially in the last third of the year.

The one area I was disappointed by was his rebounding. He was routinely man-handled by other wings when competing for rebounds.

Everything else sort of met my expectations.
