Someone make a LaVine last 10 games thread. Damn impressive in his own right.

I know you were just playing devil's advocate, but in Lavine's defense he is a 19/20 year old player this year who played 20 mins a game in college off the bench. Dieng was 22 last year and a 3 year starter in college (I believe?).

it's all we have. I wouldn't lose sleep if we dealt or cut everyone else.

Why are you so tough on LaVine? He's showing more promise as a stud than bazz, and you could debate even more than Rubio at this point.

AND was thrown into the fire to play PG which he didn't play at all in college. That's just insanity.

I'd include LaVine in that group. I know it's garbage games, but his last five he's averaging:

17.8 points/5.4 rebounds and 5.8 assists. It only five games, but it's a nice "flash" of what this kid is capable of doing. He's still so young - nobody really expected this kid to be NBA ready so his early struggles were not a surprise. But he's starting to hold his own now....and who knows what his ceiling might be. You hold onto guys like that IMO.

I can't include LaVine.

I've seen too many guys who look good in games that mean nothing get undue praise from us.

McCants, Kirk Snyder, Darko, Flynn, Foye, Randolph (he's the poster child for the point I'm making) Rhino, lest we not forget Dieng last year.

What happened to all of them?

I'm not gonna buy into LaVine until he and the others can actually win these games instead of ending the season on a 12 game losing streak like they're about to.

Why include Wiggins then? Almost every game this year has meant nothing, except for the fact of watching both Wiggins and LaVine improve.

I'm not gonna dismiss Wiggins except Wiggins played well all season, not just March and April, and he has a lot more work to do than what we think.

I don't think Gorgui Dieng has anything to be ashamed of. As a second year player, he leads the team in Win Shares and VORP by wide margins. But I know what you mean. Still, my eye balls tell me LaVine is something special - especially considering his age. He certainly has the tools. It's all about work ethic and improvement at this point.

Was Wiggins playing out of position/learning a new position as a rookie? No? didn't think so.

People seriously don't get how insane it is to throw a ROOKIE SG (who didn't play any PG in college) into the STARTING PG role. Think about that for a while and let that sink in.

Just wait. Flip is going to look like a genius down the line b/c of how he has handled Lavine.

Some people can only see what is right in front of them Grey, or on a stat sheet. Thankfully the world is chalk full of people who can see the forest through the trees and think outside the box.
