So after three games, he's averaging:
21 points, 5 assists, 4.33 rebounds and 1.67 steals a game. His PER is 19.32. Nice to see him playing well down there. The 21 points/game is team leading with the next closest being Brandon Fields at 16.7 points/game (Fields has played 14 games - Tyus only 3).
4+ rebounds?
Maybe the Wolves can use him instead of Wiggins to beef up rebounding?

I'll watch the rest of his games but that first one he was making it look easy like Andre Miller does somehow easily getting past guys except adding the fact he has a nice jumpshot and younger. Lol We saw some of that scoring ability in preseason. Like you said it's defense that is likely going to be his problem especially if he can hit NBA 3's.
Jones with 29 points last night....on 24 shots. Man, he's getting a ton of shots up. Unfortunately, his team has won one game out of four since he's been down there and doesn't seem very interested in playing defense. This should be a perfect training ground for him!

Curious about you saying he isn't interested in playing D. Have you observed him play in these games?

To clarify, what I meant is that it appears the team doesn't seem interested in playing D, in that they give up a ton of points. I have only watched Tyus's highlights, so I don't know how he himself is playing D.
....but we already kind of know that this will be an area of struggle for him. I do like the fact he's knocking down 3's. This team desperately needs two things: 1) Better defense, and 2) better shooting. If he can't offer the first, then at least it appears he can offer the second.

Ugh sorry I didn't read correctly. sorry you had to answer my dumb response. Thanks for not ripping me apart like Mitchell did Robison. Lol
Gotta love the scoring. Would like to see more assists. But all things considered, this has to be a huge confidence boost for the kid. We might have to send Bjelica out there next!
Man, he has been prolific. I love the fact he's getting the 3-ball to go. Again, it doesn't appear he's learning much about playing defense in Idaho, but at least he's getting lots of reps.
Here is something interesting to think about in the future. I could envision a close-game scenario where you effectively interchange Jones and Rubio depending on whether we're on offense or defense (and whether we're in the lead or tied/behind). It's certainly unorthodox to do that with PGs, but it happens all the time with Centers.
I've watched some of the Stampedes' games, and here are my thoughts. They are a bad team, and Tyus is their best scoring option, so I assume the coach is asking him to score rather than pass. Tyus is still making lots of nice passes that are resulting in missed shots. His defense has been passable...quick hands and even relatively quick feet He is never going to be Ricky Rubio, but he is smart and knows how to play basketball...those two things alone could help him become an adequate (but far from great) NBA defender. He has one more game today and then he returns to practice for at least 10 days with the Wolves. It's undecided whether he returns to Idaho after that, but regardless this has been a positive experience for Tyus.
