If Russell is the next Harden and WCS the next Tyson Chandler I think that is just as good as anything Rubio/Towns can become. The plus/minus stats are great, but we've been .500 at best with him healthy so I don't get the need to keep him. We're going into year 5 and it's been all excuses to this point even if some are valid. If we were ever a great team with him I'd say we need to keep him, but he's only helped us be a middle of the pack team at best.

If Russell is the next Harden? That is a huge leap you're making there. You're talking about the 2nd best player in the game this year. If if's and buts were candy and nuts, we'd all have a merry Christmas.

This article came out about a week and half ago, its got a lot of the upper echelon players in the draft, so if you haven't looked at it its worth the look over.

Draft Towns to keep and then trade Shabazz and Pek if we can get a high enough pick to land WCS or Porzingas.

And nothing you've said about Towns is a leap for how good he could be? There are draft people making the Harden comparisons, not just me. Russell has as high a chance of being the best player in this draft so yes I'd be fine taking him and getting the defensive presence we need in WCS in my scenario.

I doubt Pek and Muhammed gets us high enough to get either of those two. Pek may be untradable.

Yeah I am not sure that Shabazz and Pek are enough to get us a top 8 to 10 pick needed to land either Porzingas or WCS. What about Shabazz and Martin?

If we are going to team up Towns and WCS, which I really like the idea of, Gorgui is expendable. So would any combination of Martin/Bud, 31/36, Gorgui/Bennett, and possibly Bjelica get us there, I dunno it depends on who is looking for what and how far WCS falls. Sac, Den, Det, Charl, Mia are all in that possible range and could be looking for some of the pieces we've got.

I'd give up a lot to make Towns and Cauley-Stein a thing.

Dieng, Muhammad, Bjelica, 31 and 36 (or whatever first rounder we can turn those two picks into).

I realize it seems like a lot of assets to put into one guy, but man, you can do great things with Towns/WTCS in your frontcourt. Oh, and Wiggins on the perimeter.

Assuming the draft goes:

1. MIN - K. Towns
2. LAL - J. Okafor
3. PHI - D. Russell
4. NYK - E. Mudiay
5. ORL - K. Porzingis
6. SAC - ???

The Kings have no shot at a top point guard so they would be more inclined to move the pick.

Not so sure the Knicks go with Mudiay. He doesn't fit the triangle. I think the Kings may trade up for Mudiay. Either that or the Knicks could stand pat and take Porzingis or Winslow. Or I'm dead wrong and they pick Mudiay.
