I think he's hit on 1 of 3 (Dieng) with the other two being question marks still. Gorgui is still somewhat unproven, but we've seen enough to say that he was a good pick at #21, even if he doesn't improve a lick. Just the fact he can soak up some quality minutes off the bench is pretty good for a late first rounder. Shabazz and LaVine are too early to judge.
I actually agree it's too early to know. But I characterized my assessment as early and preliminary. It's never too early to judge in the world of sports message boards. :).
When Al Gore invented the internet he did it with sports message board speculation in mind! Well that and porn.
Lol. Good one, SP!
+1 well done. That comment reminded me of the song from the Musical Avenue Q "The Internet was Made for Porn" So much truth to that song and hilarious a puppet was singing it. Lol

As for LaVine, I have my opinion on him. Nothing he could do in SL could change my mind about him. Prove it when it matters and I might come around on Zach. Til then, he's a domestic draft and stash
You're still on this huh?
Yeah, it bugs me too when people assume Flip wasn't proud of that draft...I would have been, and I assume he was. I saw a very tired Flip who looked like he had been up all night at the press conference the next morning. I'm not a psychologist or a mind reader, so I can't tell you if he was proud of his moves or not. He expressed surprise that KCP was picked by Detroit and certainly gave the impression that he would have picked him, but I think he was mostly talking about how things don't always go as planned, and he went into scramble mode. But I will always think that being able to turn the 9th pick into Shabazz and Gorgui was a brilliant move, and I suspect Flip does too. I agree with many others that the almost 7 footer from Greece could have been a better pick at 14, but it also was far from a sure thing. I suspect that's why he went out on the limb with Zach this year.
Flip said he knows we were disappointed with the draft and that he'll own up to it.
You know what most people generally "own up to?" Mistakes.
