Seems like we could use another ball-handler, so I'd be fine with swapping out AB to free up a roster spot for a 3rd PG, so long as we didn't have to ship out another asset to make it happen. I certainly don't want a Wes Johnson scenario.

I disagree. I think BlondRicky, Lavine, Jones and Wiggins can all handle.

I'm fine with that core, but when one of them goes down, not so much. I want that 3rd ball handler who can push Tyus and step in when needed. It seems destined to be LoBrown, but I wouldn't mind someone with more experience...

Re: Anthony Bennett Hype Thread
Everything I have seen so far tells me that AB doesn't have the mental makeup to be a good player, let alone a star player. He's had his chances and lets move on. I would try to trade him to someone who thinks like you that he might have some upside left. All indications are that Flip is moving on too. Those who want to keep AB I think are underselling the value of another roster spot and underselling the opportunity to rid ourselves of a bad contract.
I don't think GR had much of a chance to develop. He never got playing time I'm not saying GR3 will ever be a great player, but I did want him to get more playing time and find out. If GR3 had the same amount of minutes as AB, I'd put my money on GR3 developing into a solid rotational guy over AB and he costs the minimum in salary. But there were several undrafted players I'd prefer to give a chance to over giving a third chance to AB, Christian Wood, Cliff Alexander and Robert Upshaw. I like Brady Heslip's potential over AB too.
Why keep a sure bust in AB and not give us a chance to find someone who can help the team. Good teams get use out of the end of their bench (e.g. Delly, Danny Green, Patty Mills, Hassan Whiteside, Chandler Parsons, Jeremy Lin, Mo Speights were all at one time the 14th or 15th guys on their team). I don't think we should waste the spot.

Exactly, not a lot of depth in the event someone gets hurt.
And sorry Jason, but Wiggins is not a guy you want bringing the ball up the court and setting up an offense.

Not ideal. But according to 82games, there is a very small sample size of him at the "1", and it's not god-awful.

Not sure how many games you watched Jason, but Wiggins never played the 1. He was at the 2 for a short stint when he and 'Bazz started together, but he mostly played the 3. One of his weaknesses was ball handling. That's not so say it won't improve, but he certainly won't be ready to bring the ball up and initiate an offense.

Because AB's not a sure bust. You're saying you would rather have a second rounder who can barely stick on any NBA roster over a lottery pick who's played less minutes in his career than Wiggins already? We need talent and AB has more talent in his right leg than Brown and GR3. GR3 can't play for Philly and they literally have no wings on that team!!! If you're willing to develop the guy who takes Bennett's spot then he better be more talented than Bennett otherwise there is literally no reason to pick them over Bennett. You just don't choose to develop fringe NBA players over lottery picks if you have a choice. The only barrier to half the league wanting to develop Bennett is his contract and that's highly likely to be gone after this year. Even Derrick Williams is still generating NBA interest and guys like Brown and GR3 can't make a roster.

"He's had his chances"
two incomplete seasons. 57 games played (with us) at 15 min per game at the age of 21 in only his second season isn't exactly a full blown go at it IMO. Not to mention he hasn't exactly had any stability in his career so far.
I don't like the fact that I'm defending Anthony Bennett, but he is still a youngster. Yes he hasn't set the world on fire to date, and been a huge disappointment as a #1 pick so far, but I don't think you can write him off just yet. Give him a full (healthy) season with some continuity would likely help his cause.
With that being said we don't exactly have minutes/role carved out for him which is why I would like to see him traded to a team with cap space with a spot in the rotation where he can get consistent minutes. I haven't heard anything negative about him off the court, because of that I want him to succeed or at least get a fair shake.
The 15th roster spot means pretty much squadoosh on every team in the league. If you're depending on your 15th man for more than 10 minutes for 1 game in a blue moon I got news for you This year isn't your year. The Spurs 15th man Austin Daye, Warriors Ognjen Kuzmic, Cavs Joe Harris. These guys do not matter in the scheme of things, and Bennett is an expiring contract and seeing as we weren't going to have cap space for anything of note with or without him he is not a bad contract.

Like I said Q, small sample size. 82games has it at 1%, which is less than 30 minutes for the whole season.
