My biggest concern is that Glen Taylor will be mentoring our new owners for 2 years. That doesn't bode well. :)

From doilies to diapers. Upgrading empires. I never thought the team was going to stay with the money involved. Hopefully we get a few years of an owner wanting to mark his territory with crazy spending before they leave.

No!!!! Terrific research on Lore, Lip. I had certainly heard of him, but didn't know any of those details.

I may have understated Arod's net worth earlier. J-lo's net worth is reputedly more than Arod's, so if they stay together, their combined net worth will approach $1 billion. So the Lore/Rodriquez partnership will certainly be flush. That's important to me because a super-rich ownership group might be less concerned about paying lux tax if they think it will be good for the franchise. Not knowing any details about the Garnett consortium (if there even was one) that was always a concern for me as rumors floated around about KG's interest in buying the wolves. I like that this ownership will have a much bigger net worth than Glen had.

wow this sort of came out of nowhere. I feel sorta good about this actually. Like others have said Arod seems to be a good businessman and went from being a hated athlete to being a guy people actually like seeing and hearing from on TV. these guys are going to have a ton of money.

Like other have mentioned the reason to buy and NBA franchise is that its a fantastic investment. The reality is that if the Wolves can ever be successful on the floor this is a market that can make plenty of money. is that somewhat of a homer take? Sure but its also likely true. If they do move the franchise...well there is a possibility that its partly because its another failed re-re-re-re-re-re-re-build.

FWIW, Chris Hine tweets that he just talked with Glen. Glen said this deal came out of nowhere and came together in the last couple days. He will put in a clause which says the new owners can't relocate the team, and says that will be no problem for the new owners. Sounds good to me.

On relocation talk:
- It's natural for it to be a concern.
- My read is the league prefers expansion, not relocation.
- Taylor keeping control for 2.5 more years is important.
- Sources on both sides say major investments in MN are already being discussed.

Up Side: If they move I will be able to root against them, which has to be better than rooting for them!
