Agreed Cool. Do you have any thoughts on what you would suggest he change mechanically?
Shorten up the stroke, make sure the elbow stays inside his body and right underneath the ball. Work on releasing at the top of his jump instead of on the way up. Work on limiting motion to the wrist and elbow. Believe it or not, it would help if he could practice on a basket with a lower ceiling above it.

I mean, a guard that can never achieve 70% or better from the line suggests that there isn't much of a foundation to work with. Free throws have usually been a good proxy for shooting in general (and I realize Rubio is a major exception).
Still....he does enough other stuff to potentially be a difference maker, even as a role playing combo guard that provides elite defensive energy and production.
Yes, his free throw shooting is very troubling. I'm not willing to give up on the possibility that his shot is fixable. But he clearly has a long, long way to go. That's why, until Dunn proves otherwise, we can't expect him to become our starting PG if we ever hope to be a championship contender. At least Ricky has a knack for getting to the line and when there hits nearly 90% of his free throws. But as a combo guard role player off the bench I see Dunn's value.

Thanks Cool great stuff. What do you think of his base?

I think it's good. He has good balance and lower body strength. He just has some extra, unnecessary movement in his upper body and he finishes wrong.

It is my specialty. Maybe you could put in a good word with Glen? :)
Working with players named Kris? Thats kinda weird man. =)
In all seriousness it will be interesting to see how the team does in the shooting department with Peter Patton as the shooting coach. I would assume it will take more than just a season to see significant results right?
If Dunn's better off the ball, as is LaVine and Wiggins, someone's gonna have to go since neither LaVine nor Dunn have shown the ability to be decent at PG. If Dunn can't figure it out at PG, he's gonna get squeezed out, especially since Wiggins lacks the work ethic to be able to comfortably handle more physicality at SF. Dunn's praying more than anyone Minny either doesn't win the lotto or doesn't stumble onto Fox or even Monk.

Why does someone have to go, they all can play a role on the team. I mean thomas, bradley, smart and crowder all made it work. Also wiggins did just fine playing SF this year. Yes he has to get better but he is still a pretty darn good sf
