Ugh. Rubio has a game like and it looks so easy. My porkchop is only based on made and missed shots by him so I am naturally down to 68% Pork Chop. As long as he stays away from shots he can't make I'm happy. I'll never be down on Wiggins. He has only improved so far. When he starts regressing I will be disappointed.

I am not a Wiggins hater, but your last comment seems a bit off. Wiggins is literally down in every category compared to a year ago. From 3's, to rebounds, steals and assists. The only reason he is up in ppg is a simple shot volume increase. Again, don't dislike the guy, but he has given me pause given no statistical increase in anything. For what it's worth, I think he has superstar talent.....but his motor and effort have, and may always hold him back.

Increased TS% with an increased usage rate. Basically he has improved with more responsibility while taking less threes in a completely unimaginative offense. Are they staggering improvements? No. But his increase in FTA shows that he did work on his handle and is making strides. Everyone wanted him to be more agressive, I would say he is. His overall shot selection still needs work, but the kid is more confident out there this year and it shows. Like I said, I am not worried about him at all.

Ricky makes shots and we win. Who'd have guessed? My Pork Chop took a bit a hit this game and finished at 62%. Good job Ricky.

So after having time to digest this win, here is what I noticed:

1. Backdoor cuts!
2. Wiggins is back in balance on free throws and had his legs under him on jumpshots. He also hustled up and down the floor better, got a few loose balls and made some good drive and kick passes.
3. Drive and kick offense!
4. Wiggins and Towns in PnR...finally
5. Help defense was much better with quicker rotations on open shooters from behind the arc.
6. Belly had his best game in weeks. That crossover, drive and kick for an open 3 was tremendous.

Yes it was against the Suns, but that was a complete game by a young team. I saw improvements, but it needs to be the first in many that need to happen.

What would you call them? Phoenix, playing like they have been does not require a struggling team to turn some corner in order to beat them. I wouldn't start talking about turned corners until we witness a consistent, and prolonged improvement in play.

Suns are 1-14 in last 15 games (we are 2-13) so definitely not a time to call that corner has been turned yet .. do not get too optimistic guys, your hopes are going to be crushed if you do :-)

Don't forget that we basically added an actual team of NBA players around him this year. Last year it was pretty much just him, Dieng and on some nights Zach so it makes sense that his stats outside of efficiency would be higher when he was playing with bad players and needing to literally do everything (or try to do everything).

I was there. A huge talent differential in favor of the Wolves. The Suns are a bad team and tonight they were playing at their worst. The Washington Generals would have beat the Suns tonight. So don't get your hopes up.

Don't stomp on this for us Lip. I think we've already proven that this is yet another Lottery Ball season. But it's been a long time between drinks, so I reckon we should enjoy the hell out of a win and a good Rubio shooting night and a pretty good game from Wig. If this really is just a mirage in the desert, we have plenty of time to get back to loitering in the draft thread.
