Mind Boggling - Suns at Wolves GDT

Post by 60WinTim »

How in the world can this team be so bad?!?

Last year under Flip the Wolves started out 2-2 (.500) when the wheels fell off with Rubio's injury, followed by Pek's exile, and a roster with no depth at PG or C. 14-64 for a winning % of 18%. After Sam's 8-8 start, the wheels have fallen off once again, going 4-21 for a winning % of 16%. And this began heading into a soft part of the schedule with a relatively healthy roster, our main rookie being a bright spot, and a surprisingly weak Western Conference. How is 4-21 record even possible?

Today we host the Suns, a team that is arguably worse than us. Vegas has us favored. But I can't say I am expecting a win. I used to think it was fine for Sam to "hold the reigns" so the kiddies can develop for a year and a proper coaching search could take place in the off-season. I am not so sure we can wait any more...

Milt Newton made some comments on the state of the Wolves at the half way point. He did say he would have liked it if we were further along. He definitely harped on offensive problems.

Can we say with 100% certainty that the wheels fell off becuz of Rubios injury last year. I mean he's playing this year and they still suck.

Rubio's injury was a huge impact, but it was made more huge because Flip decided to let Barea go. But just as huge was our lack of frontcourt depth. So when both Pek and Turiaf went AWOL, we were turrible.

Wiggins is really working this afternoon. Nice to see!

It's nice we can bring in Dieng with Belly's quick foul trouble instead of Payne.

We are shooting 59% to the Sun's 47% and we are outrebounding them by 8. Its surprising that we are only up by 2.
