The only one that I'd say may be competitive would be the Lakers job. The Lakers are going to have a ton of cap room going forward and we all know how easy it's been in the past for them to retool on the fly. So it's a team with a ton of cap room and a revenue situation that lets them go deep into the tax to win that also has a history of winning championships vs a team with good cap space, the best young but not fully realized talent in the league, and a revenue/owner situation that will limit the ceiling in terms of how deep they're willing to go into the tax to win.

Honestly, looking at the rosters as they're made up today you pick the Wolves 10 times out of 10, but we know how fast the Lakers can rebuild so I don't think it's as cut and dry as you say Lip.

The Lakers were terrific rebuilding on the fly, but that was under different management. This regime has dropped the ball, came up empty several times already.

Depending on where the Lakers pick they have some nice young talent, cap space, they are still the Lakers...however I think the Wolves have some advantages that the top guys will wait for the Wolves over the Lakers.

Towns and the talent is already there. You don't have to wonder if the next pick or Russell pans out the Wolves are simply farther along at this point and Towns trumps everything.

It's being reported Glen is open and possibly even looking to give full control to one guy. That's not likely going to be an option.

He's not leaving Kentucky.

IF the Wolves called (I doubt they will call) I think he would listen but I don't think there will be many teams willing to offer up around 10 million a year (he makes over 8 million at UK) to get Cal out of UK. The Wolves have plenty of good options than to have to hope Cal makes the transition to the NBA game AND pay him an absolute boatload of money.

I don't think Cal leaves UK. It seems he has way to much fun doing what he is doing there and he gets paid a ton has it about as good as you can get as a college coach.

Remember, Calipari has been in the pros and it didn't work out.

In fact, he is reportedly the reason the Nets didn't draft Kobe Bryant.

Cal is a great recruiter, but his in game coaching leaves a lot to be desired. Get someone who has had success at the pro level.

Earl Watson got a 3 year deal with the Suns. I always liked him I hope it works out relatively well for him there.

Besides, the NBA salary cap won't allow us to pay our players as much as Kentucky.....

I find it more than moderately amusing that the Rockets are said to be very interested in JVG as their coach. I would LOVE to see how JVG and James Harden get along.

If I'm the Rockets I try and trade Harden to a star hungry team like Boston or LA. He is a heck of a talent, I'm just not sure he is a guy that drives a team to a title. Boston and LA both have the assets to get the deal done. I don't think Harden and Howard are a championship core.
