Please go away with this shit. Holiday was an East division all star, Do you really think he's better than Ricky? Would this REALLY make us better, or just different?

This will not happen. Period.

Holiday is vastly better than Rubio. With Jrues ability to hit shots and at a decent percentage it would round out this team offensively. I would argue this team could win a playoff series with him at the helm. Ricky has far to many 4-6 pt games for a starting pg.

Holiday is a 15 / 4 / 8 / 46% guy in the West right now, sharing a backcourt with Gordon and Evans. I'll take some pepper with that, too...

As for Asik and Pekovic. You're trading an above average offensive player for an above average defensive player. If you just look at stats, Pekovic will look like the better player. But think about what this team needs defensively. Asik might just fit nicely in that role.

And he'd still be a 10/10 type of guy.

Pekovic is playing far better than a 'above average' offensive player. Over the last 5 games he's averaging 25ppg shooting 56% from the field and averaging about 7 offensive boards a game as well. I'd say that would fall under the 'very good' offensively category Abe

25ppg at 56%? That's not "very good", that is elite efficiency.

And if he keeps that up for the next 52 games... he'd deserve to be called an elite offensive player. But, I'm not going to assume he'll keep those stats up just because he's done it for five games now.

Pekovic is a very nice option inside who's been pretty damn consistent. Above average may be underselling him a bit. Then again, calling Asik's defense only above average might be underselling him a bit too.

Pekovic plays next to the best offensive 4 in the game. He's not dropping 25 ppg just straight up posting up his guy and beating him. He has more space to work with than most 5's in the game have the luxury of playing with. He has a great passing PG along with a stretch 4 to get him better looks than most bigs get. Pek has been very good this year, but that was expected with Love and Martin taking away attention from the defense. Everything about Pek's past says he is an above average offensive player. To call him elite after 1/3 of 1 season is a little bit quick on the trigger. Hopefully he keeps it up, but nobody is trading for him thinking he is an elite offensive option that they can plug in and get 25 a night. He won't be in the same beneficial situation anywhere else in the league. The best this deal can guarantee him is he won't lose the PG getting him the ball and that should be enough to keep him at his above average clip.

I think Pek's value will only increase over the next year or two. So many teams rely heavily on 3-point shooting that having an inside scoring presence as a counter-balance will become more important. With the 3-point shot being the most efficient shot in basketball (after the dunk), the league's best defensive minds will eventually find ways to improve 3-point defense, therefore requiring offenses to adjust with guys that can score in the low post - a skill that has become more rare over the years. Also, Pek's contract stays even at $12.1M and then goes down in the final year, so as time goes on, his salary is less and less relative to the cap.
