Yeah. I thought Dieng brought a lot of good effort tonight, so it was tough to see him miss those. But Thad did too. I am glad the draft has bigs this year.
I'll just say this. Some dudes on this team are fragile mentally right now. He's one of them. That hesitation wide open three at the end is a perfect example.

So we have mentally fragile players actually playing while the physically fragile players watch! It's the Timberwolves way.
- Disappointing outing by Budinger after having 3 straight outings where he shot the ball well.
- Disappointing outing by Shabazz as well, who seems to be on a bit of a cold streak with that left-handed push shot of late.
- Bennett is a lost puppy at this point, the guy is doing absolutely nothing of value. What Hummel did in 5 minutes was more than Bennett has accomplished in 3 or 4 games.
- Wiggins with a nice follow-up to the game in Cleveland. We really could use more of his help on the boards, but hey, I'll take a decent outing from him after that long cold streak.
- Dieng played like a man. He's been stepping up lately. Too bad he's getting no help on the interior, especially after he goes to challenge shots. Thad Young just isn't built to play next to Dieng. We need a true power forward out there starting next to Dieng. Gee, I wonder if Jeff Adrien is available?
- LaVine is cutting back the dumb mistakes. Unfortunately, he's playing so conservatively that he rarely makes anything good happen either.
Sigh. That was our best chance to win a game in a while. Tomorrow night will be ugly.
Definitely won't win many games when your starting PF is out rebounded 25 - 6. That is 19 rebounds, and we were out rebounded by 18 as a team.
I just don't want to hear anything about the team being young and inexperienced anymore. It is the veterans that are showing a lack of effort, and making the boneheaded plays.
I am now in favor of cutting Young, and giving his minutes to Bennett and Hummel. We don't need that type of effort on a nightly basis from a so called team leader.
Am I the only one that thought the officiating was absolutely atrocious last night. Wiggins should have shot over 15 FT's with the contact he took last night. Shabazz must have been fouled five times without a call as well. How about the travel on Lawson where he dragged his pivot foot toe so loudly you could hear it back in Minny. I am tired of getting crews that clearly have an agenda calling the game.
I noticed that Pop and Kerr lead the league in Techs for coaching. Two teams that reach and grab more than any other and get away with it are still in the refs' faces. Maybe Flip should watch some game film on them, since it doesn't appear he is watching any of Thad Young making no effort.

Ooh, what a splendid idea. And you're saying this after a pretty decent game. 23 points, 6 reb, 4 ast, 2 stl. I get that his effort level isn't as high as it has been in past years, but cut him? No GM in the league would be dumb enough to do that.

I would have to agree with Cam on this one. Thad is not a bad player. His line last night was very respectable. And I'll add to what Cam posted...he had zero turnovers. That said, he is part of a much bigger problem on defense. I don't have the answer and it doesn't look like Flip does either. My guess is it might start getting a little better when Rubio is back as I believe he's better at stopping dribble penetration (which has been leading to guys coming off their men/missed rotations/open shots). It's also pretty obvious to most that we need to get bigger and meaner inside. Even with the injuries, I find it hard to understand why our defense would be so horrible. I watch the other teams move the ball around and find a wide open shot almost every single time down the court.
