Getting through this first round of free agency will be part of setting the market. Towns value is low because of his contract relative to his winning, not his stats from last year. More teams will emerge wanting to take on more talent as the bar gets set by those not being as cautious about the new CBA.Lipoli390 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 28, 2023 11:57 pmThat’s right. Everyone knows that a healthy KAT will average 24/10/5. His recent illnesses and injuries have been freak things and not the kinds of things that involve structural damage or that tend to repeat themselves. He’s not coming off an ACL or Achilles tear. So I think it’s a big of a myth that KAT’s value is low because of last season. The League knows the kind of player he is and there’s no reason to expect he won’t be health and back to where he was the season before last.WildWolf2813 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 28, 2023 4:50 pm
Then the value will remain low.
The Wolves aren't gonna watch him average 24/10/5 on great shooting midway through the season and then trade him.
Yep.
It's not like teams seriously think Towns got that much worse in one season during his prime years. He's still considered an ungodly gifted offensive basketball player.
The questions are whether his strengths (and obvious warts) justify his upcoming HUGE contract... and what's it worth to find out?
