Minott isn't a rotational player on a contending team. He may find a niche somewhere but not here, not now.
Not sure TJ Warren is either. He's already fallen out of our rotation and we are down a man. Any minutes for Minott would have likely been regular season only, but it appears Finch is going to stick with the vets the rest of the way.

TJ Warren has been signed for the remainder of the season and will be eligible for the playoffs. No surprise since he know has 20 days under his belt with the Wolves AND the Wolves had to add somebody.
If I had to bet money on that 15th roster spot, I would bet on the Wolves converting Garza to a standard contract just before the playoffs.
I'd be fine with converting Garza. They certainly should add someone and at this point - what is a better option? I am a little disappointed that the ballyhooed "buyout market" was essentially a bust. I mean...TJ Warren? Pfft. I was hoping for better.
You know, isn't interesting that the Wolves didn't find someone on the buyout/FA market to help fill KAT's role positionally? Could this be a signal of what might happen this offseason regarding KAT?
Not a sign of anything. There weren’t any worthwhile bigs available to fill KAT’s positional role. The Wolves apparently tried to sign Marcus Morris, but he chose Cleveland instead for some reason. Go figure. Who else was available?
We have great depth at the PF position with Naz, Jaden and Slo Mo all able to play that position well. Naz can play center and we have Garza to backfill at center if needed. With Jaden and Slo Mo rotating in at the PF position without KAT, the Wolves biggest need is SF - hence the signing of TJ Warren. It all makes sense.

There’s little basis for definitive pronouncements on what Minott might be or whether he will eventually fit in here. But I agree that right now it makes more sense to stick with the vets down the stretch as we compete for playoff position and compete thereafter in the playoffs. The Wolves signed TJ Warren for the rest of the season and playoffs. I wanted Marcus Morris but he chose the Cavs instead. At this point, the Wolves should (and probably will) convert Garza to a regular contract to fill the 15th slot for the playoffs. Obviously, Garza’s way ahead of Minott as an NBA ready player.
It looks like Finch has decided to go small in backfilling the rotation in KAT’s absence, tapping JMac for more minutes rather than turning to Garza or TJ Warren. It looks like Monte Morris is rounding into game shape and looking more like his old self lately just in time for the stretch run and playoffs. That’s a great sign. JMac is also looking really good. I have a lot of confidence in Garza if he’s needed. So I like where we’re at with our rotation and hoping KAT comes back strong in the playoffs.
Meanwhile, Minott will be on the roster and with the team during the playoffs. If things turn ugly with injuries or a rash of fouls in a game, Josh can come in and provide hustle and other things. But let’s hope it doesn’t come down to that.
Minott has two more years on a cheap contract - next season non-guaranteed and the following season a team option. Given the Wolves salary situation and lack of draft capital, Minott and Miller are both great young assets to have. We’ll see how they develop over the next couple years. I’m not counting on either one, but I’m not writing either one off.
