A nice recap of why Jon K thinks the Wolves are getting Simmons
It will be a sad to lose mcdaniels, he and Beasley and filler, and only one first round pick I'm hoping
In that scenario, the Wolves get back a 25-year old All-NBA player and runner-up DPOY in Ben Simmons. How sad will you really be?
Not too sad, Ben and I share the same name so I am excited for the wolves to hopefully take advantage of this once in a lifetime opportunity. I was just hoping to somehow keep McDaniels and spam them with first round picks instead but ah well
Ha! I'm with you on that one. Personally, I don't think it's a certainty that Jaden McDaniels will be traded, but in the event he is it's definitely something I can live with if Ben Simmons playing for the Wolves.
I pretty much agree with both of your sentiments. It would be difficult to let a promising prospect like Jaden go, but the pain would quickly go away with the addition of Simmons. I'm not concerned about losing Beasley,,,good shooter, but a terrible defender and questionable character at best.
I'm quite encouraged by the Jon K article, as I find him to be as credible as anyone. Of the three types of deals rumored, this is my order of preference:
1) Something built around Dlo and picks. This would be by far my first choice, but it's doubtful for two reasons: Morey doesn't seem to be too enamored of Russell, and Rosas at least says he would like to retain him.
2) Jaden, Beas and picks. See above. I imagine this pushes Prince into the starting SF spot, so I'm going to start a thread about him.
3) Ant for Ben. Reports are Morey would do this, but this board would largely revolt if Rosas did this . I would grudgingly support it because it does make us better, but I would clearly prefer options 1 and 2.
