In addition to being just a 4-game sample size, I believe there is lots of room for growth in DLO's game as it pertains to the Wolves. And this comment from Ryan suggests they are on top of it as well:

Timberwolves PR @Twolves_PR 1h
"We talk more about 'us' and 'we' and less 'I' and 'me'. It's not just on DLo it's on all of us. He's an unbelievable talent and he wants what's best for this group." -Coach Saunders on the expectation of D'Angelo Russell right now

Only 3 with Towns... and they're 2 - 1 in those games... which is most important.

Only 3 with Towns... and they're 2 - 1 in those games... which is most important. That's definitely one way to look at it. And justifiable.

Others might look at a talented, but somewhat flawed 6-year-vet who's still having the same problems that have dogged him for three other teams. And that's justifiable, too.

Hopefully, Russell adapts his game a bit... or the Wolves figure out a way to get even more out of him. But it's far from a guarantee.

C'mon, Russ isn't going to change for the better. If anything the situation deteriorates further this year and his weaknesses become more magnified. And if he was brought here because of his friendship with KAT, that is one of the stupidest things I've ever heard a GM do. KAT is going to get tired of playing with him too. This isn't the Bucks bringing in Thanasis to help with keeping Giannis, it's completely different.

It's oft mentioned that DLO is very skilled. This is true, his skills have taken him a long way. I think the best word to describe his game is crafty. Almost every night he does something very few people can do. That being said he's a guard in the NBA who is a below average athlete. It's one thing to be a big with below average athleticism, but guards who are expected to lead their team need to be more than decent shooters and crafty passers. You have to get to the rim, you have to make the players around you better, you have to be a true leader. After this season no team will be willing to give up a lottery pick in a trade.

I thought Wiggins was worth negative two 1sts, so if DLO is only negative one then that's an upgrade!!!

Not surpised at the outcome of this game. It would have been nice to see them keep it competitive longer when they had a decent lead early.

Like the Lakers game I was ok watching because I like seeing the young guys. Juancho is testing my faith in him as a player but I like the rest of what young guys are showing. Vanderbuilt brings something and I would like to see more. There seems to be something to the theory of him as a basketball player and some of the minutes we have seen him are against the non-scrubs.

Shout out to Ed Davis who looks like he can still play. He does something in a Wolves uniform that some bigs must think is illegal. He comes up contests the perimeter player that gets into the paint then hustles back and boxes his man out so he doesn't get the rebound. He did this effectively a number of times in only 12 minutes.
