I was just looking at Boston roster and had a few thoughts.

First of all while they aren't going to je a contender they have some talent and could still be pretty good despite all the changes to the roster and Tatum being out. Pritchard has improved his game and Simon's will bring playmaking and scoring to the team if they don't unload him.

Speaking of guys that have improved their game Derrick While...so he is a very good high volume 3 point shooter now!? He is a wildly efficient very good defensive perimeter player. If the Celtics wanted to trade him I think they could probbaly name their price and it would be a lot. When White was dealt who would have thought he would become such a good shooter and efficient scorer? He was 27 at the time which is the age where usually guys are what they are. That was not the case for him. I'm not saying every guy past the age of 26 or whatever can get significantly better but it does happen.

Neemias Queta is a guy that is gonna get a shot to play a lot more this year and he might show something pretty good. He played some actual minutes last year and it looked like he did reasonably well. He is playing for Portugal this summer and already had a nice game. Watching highlights of him the passing stands out.

Xaiver Tillman is there too he probably gets some more minutes and will likely do well enough in them.

Yes, Derrick White was a name a number of us brought up early in the offseason as the "best case scenario" in terms of trade targets for all the reasons you mention. He also sports a very good assist:TO ratio, so he's a great defender, great shooter, AND secure ball handler and distributor. Just ideal next to Ant.....and also unobtainable!

White has always been good, but his shift in shot distribution to mostly 3s has increased his true shooting percentage and that in turn has made him an even more effective player. His best two seasons statistically are his last two, at the age of 29 and 30, continuing a trend we've seen from others like Jimmy Butler, TJ McConnell, and Norman Powell....guys that peak in their late 20s/early 30s versus the more typical trend of peaking in one's mid to late 20s.

And what do White, Butler, McConnell, and Powell all have in common? All entered the NBA as older rookies with multiple years of college ball played. That bodes well for TJ Shannon! Just because he's older, doesn't mean he can't keep improving over the next 5 years.

Brogdon is off the board to NY. Good get for the Knicks who need depth.

They were able to resign Shamet too.

Guerschon Yabusele if last year wasn't a fluke seems like a real improvement and Clarkson probbaly brings more juice offensively which they probably need because there was times I watched then in the playoffs they couldn't score unless it was Brunson or Towns getting buckets. Will Brogdon actually be better than Cam Payne? Maybe but Brogdon also has to stay healthy. Payne isn't great but he didn't have bad regular season numbers. It will be interesting to see how it all comes together. Yabusele does seem like a good fit in their front court.

Edit:
Brogdon's deal is non guaranteed and Ian Begley says the Knicks can't afford to keep both vets as they would go over the 2nd apron so he wonders about a trade. I suppose they could make a trade later...or end up just cutting Brogdon loose late in the season to get under that 2nd apron. They may also have an agreement with Brogdon that if it's not working out they will let him go elsewhere. Also wonder if Brogdon has some sort of injury concern beyond his injury history.

Dang. VanVleet suffered an ACL tear. That's a tough blow for KD and the Rockets.

Wolves media day is just one week away!

Always been a fan of FVV. That's sucks.

They need Shepard to step up maybe more than we need Dillingham to. Is there anyone still available they can sign?

Edit: Rockets and Durant reunion with Westbrook!? Lol but seriously...

Apparently they are hard-capped and sign anyone, even for a vet minimum. But they could make a trade for someone, or make a trade to clear enough cap room to sign someone. And, yeah, I could see Westbrook being a target!

Utah is waiving KJ Martin saving them like 8 million. Martin is a guy I've liked for a while I'd guess he will find a landing spot on an NBA team. He probably doesn't have a fit with the Wolves but he has been a reasonably productive player in the past. I believe he has had some injuries that have help him back the last couple seasons.
