That’s a crazy trade. That’s a lot for Bane

If those picks are all in the 20's none of the picks will end up being anything special. But this is Orlando's big trade, so it has to get them over the edge. I think Bane is a good player and little bit overpaid, but he should fit in well there next to Suggs.

Re: Around the league offseason
I wonder if Memphis is looking to tear down a bit. Bane has been considered a core player there for a few years.
Not sure I have too much interest in any of their players for the Wolves. Ja is fun to watch, but I'm not sure he'll ever reach the sky high expectations he set a few years ago, and then of course he's a pretty big knucklehead.
JJJ is interesting, but kinda meh and I'm pretty sure him and Ant have some beef.
Anyone else on their roster who could help the Wolves if they're selling? Pippen Jr.?

I thought the full pick package was a thing of the past but it keeps happening.
Re: Around the league offseason
Pippen Jr. came out of nowhere last season and became an elite defending PG that can also shoot and pass. My guess is they want to keep him around, as they have him locked up at a very good price.AussieWolf3 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 15, 2025 11:37 am I wonder if Memphis is looking to tear down a bit. That makes sense, I was just throwing stuff out there lol and he has always popped when the two teams play.Q-is-here wrote: ↑Sun Jun 15, 2025 11:49 amPippen Jr. came out of nowhere last season and became an elite defending PG that can also shoot and pass. Can JJJ play as a small ball center? He's a pretty solid two way player from my understanding and I wonder if he can function as a defensive anchor if the team dropped Rudy. Run with a Jackson/Jaden/Naz/Clark/Ant lineup- versatile with a lot of potential to put the clamps on, but I don't know about Jackson as rim protector.
Again just stuff at the wall
Edit: I didn't realize he's a former DPOY, at a really young age too
Re: Around the league offseason
Orlando really went all in on this deal but it kinda makes sense.
Meanwhile Memphis gets an absolute ton for Bane and they also got some potentially useful players in return in KCP and Cole Anthony. KCP struggled shooting the 3 in Orlando but he is 32 so it's possible he could bounce back and be a good player for the Grizzlies or maybe they can flip him in another deal. Anthony gives them another guard option in case of injury. They even save a couple million next year in salary in the deal.
Because I see those players above as useful I'm not sure I see the Grizzlies selling yet. They get a solid draft pick that could help them this year and maybe with all those picks they try and move up to grab someone. The good news is that for at least for now Memphis got less high end talent which is good for the Wolves. The off-season hasn't really started yet though.
