It's good to have another deal done. It looks like this one doesn't add any more money to this year's cap. It seems like they could get another deal done before the season starts.

The Vikings have spoken. Barr is the lowest priority.

I disagree. Remember Barr thought they were so close to a deal that he didn't have an insurance policy in place for one of the team workouts. So it's likely they aren't that far away from each other for this deal. A couple people have reported that all the guys up for extensions the Vikings made offers weeks ago. I've said it before Barr has the least amount of reason to get a deal done earlier. He is making 12 million this year. I don't think there is anything to read into who got done before whobwhen it comes to the Vikings priorities espcially when we have no idea what the player and agent are looking at for a deal.

Good point. I am sure all of these contracts were offered with a plan to keep them all and it comes down to negotiating after that. It is who comes to an agreement first. I would guess Barr and Diggs are the toughest to nail down. Barr because of his production here vs what he might do somewhere else and Diggs because of what has happened with WR salaries. I am not 100% sure I would consider him a top tier WR at this point. Certainly, close, but I see him and Thielin more of near the top of tier 2. Which is a great thing if we can pay them accordingly. Getting Thielen paid was a huge deal for us.

Agreed with all of this. Another added layer is how much are you paying Diggs when Thielen is a better player and he is likely going to end up with less money than what Diggs receives.

Thielen's deal is absolute robbery at this point. I will have to say the Vikings have done a great job of locking guys up early and not missing on them. I doubt they would have signed Wiggins.

IMO Spielman signs his own guys so he probably would have signed Wiggins but it's a bit different situation. He has made the right move a few times in letting the right guys go though which i think gets forgotten about. Thielen's deal was a smart move and gave Adam a legit payday. I wonder if WR salaries are gonna keep being higher like some of the guys got last offseason.

Tony Sparano passed away. That is a big loss to start the year.

I just got home and turned on my phone and a friend messaged me this. It's sad aside from football. I agree with you though this is not a small thing and it felt like there was some good momentum going for this team including Mile Hughes finally signing his contract.
