Just remember that no matter how good you are on offense, you spend 50% of the game playing defense. I'm in the camp that a KAT trade could be best in the long run. However, if you could move him to power forward and bring in an eraser to play center, I think you could win big.

KAT is awesome. But he's limited in the impact he can make since he is weak on defense and has to rely on others to get shots. As Abe states, the game just isn't built these days for an offensively gifted Center that doesn't defend well.

Now do I think the Wolves actually consider trading KAT in the near future? Hell No. But I'm skeptical they can build around him given the existing trends and the way its officiated (again, see Abe's white paper on this topic). I certainly hope I'm wrong.

We would be a lot worse. We'd be last place in the west.

I've thought of that as well, or you could just get guys who can shoot remotely close to NBA avg. Math isn't pushed around here too much but you can't win by shooting 25% from 3 like half the team is. It's not that they are bad shots even, since much of the time teams just leave Teague, Graham, Okogie or Culver wide open.

Add 8-10 points to the offense could be pretty nice. Might win another game or two.

I think this is the path as well. We can still play the way they want to play. Kat guarding sfs on switches isn't going to be much worse than hes doing now. I also think kat would work better as a weak side shot blocker. He would or can also be the small ball c. I think its much easier to find a big rim protector than another elite defensive 3d wing or pf. Unfortunately that big c we need is not on the roster.

Dedmon for dieng switch anyone?

Golden State turned the corner when they traded away scorer Monta Ellis for Bogut. We need to find a Bogut type to clog the middle.

Might as well go get Steven Adams if that's the way the team is going to be built.

Prince was the highest drafted player of all those guys and he would be the least impactful player. The Dinwiddie was a guy they picked up and turned into a good player. Allen was #22 although it was a pretty good draft. We should expect to find at least one of these types of players or maybe they are on the roster already.

They also traded away a guy that likely was actually a negative for a positive. What really turned the corner was the fact they had 2 future HOF guards on their roster and they moved a guy that played their positions and also ended up drafting a future HOFer in the 2nd round. The Ellis for Bogut trade was significant though. If I remember correctly they were actually a good defensive team before that which people tend to forget about and Mark Jackson and his staff probably should get some credit for that.

Raptors also became an elite defensive team when demar was sent out and gasol brought in.
