Shams just reported the Hornets are discussing a Lamelo trade with multiple teams
Re: Shams just reported the Hornets are discussing a Lamelo trade with multiple teams
The narrative that Naz couldn't play defense or rebound was also looking like Swiss cheese but the time the playoffs came around. Was Naz guarding SGA? Nope, but he has quick feet and was really working on that end, and as we all know, effort is 75% of playing defense. Would have been a breakout season for Naz with the flake being traded, but I hope he kills it on Charlotte.

What I feel to be certain….is that this smells fishy. A team shouldn’t be giving up their cornerstone young leader for peanuts….if it’s too good to be true

Lamelo sucks! The logic is as simple as that. Everything you said early is true about Ball.BeenLurkin wrote: ↑Fri Jun 26, 2026 1:00 pm No it’s ok, you wouldn’t think I’d refer to Naz as peanuts after my recent ranting. I just don’t see the logic of the trade for Charlotte. They have bigs. They have good players, they are ascending. Naz is a dog and maybe they feel that’s the attitude they want. Maybe lamelo is a clown and not good for a winning cultures.
Naz is the heartbeat of the team and the fan base. IMO Charlotte got the better part of the deal. That’s my point. They only do this trade if they view Lamelo as a loser and Naz as a winner.

Yeah Lavar did mess him up, I forget about that dude. Major nut job who will now be at games. Trade keeps getting worse. I actually think I value both Naz and Lamelo less than the consensus, which should then be a wash, but I still don’t like it.BeenLurkin wrote: ↑Fri Jun 26, 2026 2:14 pmYeah. I think so many folks have opinions of this trade but don’t watch 82 games a year. Stats don’t tell the human story. And I think Lamelo is a questionable human whose father created some really agressive “choices” raising them with such an heir of greatness and lack of accountability. Lonzo turned out alright, eldest child…middle kid I dunno man, he seems to play ball like a kunucklehead.AussieWolf3 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 26, 2026 2:10 pmI was so ready for Naz to have a big time break out year next year. Which he still should have but as a Hornet and not a Wolf.BeenLurkin wrote: ↑Fri Jun 26, 2026 1:56 pm
Naz shoulder injury and his sisters death added to what I consider to be an Anomoly of a year for his “attitude”. He started to come around after a rough start which is 100% to be expected when your sister is murdered, then he hurts his shoulder and fought through it all year. He didn’t miss many games. He had a great playoff run.
But yeah only time will tell. Maybe it works out great for both teams.
There was some real short term memory happening once Naz injured his shoulder and his shooting tanked, but he was playing some great ball in the middle of the season. Some "why the fuck are we starting Julius Randle" ball.
I'll truly miss him

So Charlotte ownership / management is as backassed and stupid as Glen Taylor? That’s the hope I suppose.guest81 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 26, 2026 5:08 pmWolves did it with KGBeenLurkin wrote: ↑Fri Jun 26, 2026 10:35 am Don’t worry! I have enough hubris for us all!

Can the Jalen Brown trade that’s being worked on get worked into our Charlotte/brooklyn/Chicago deal?
Jaylen goes to Charlotte, picks back to MN, miles bridges to jail, I dunno just spitballing.
It could be a great avenue to pull a PF off one of those squads or a 5th or 6th squad that gets roped in. We could toss Josh green in…

That is why Naz was expendable. Whiny and moody. Same with Randle but less outward about it. Glad they are both gone. Last regular season i dont think there was one game i inherently enjoyed watching. And i watched every single game except maybe 2 or 3. Was a miserable season the entire way till the Nuggets series. I have said this many times, i would rather go 0-82 but have players and a team that trys hard and gives effort and not taking nights off than have the type of team we had last season. Uncalled for and disgusting.BeenLurkin wrote: ↑Fri Jun 26, 2026 1:00 pm No it’s ok, you wouldn’t think I’d refer to Naz as peanuts after my recent ranting. Many people saw much different things in these games. But to each their own. I enjoyed many regular season games. And I think your take sound like a review bomb bot ai slop and it’s disgusting.Mnwild1128 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 26, 2026 7:44 pmThat is why Naz was expendable. Whiny and moody. Re: Shams just reported the Hornets are discussing a Lamelo trade with multiple teams
I think Charlotte is feeling what we did after the Julius trade where everyone was scrambling for the logic and feeling like the trade was weird or one sided. The Naz trade for sure is too, and it has just got to be more added to this before it’s all over. Charlotte will get more picks from someone, we will give more assets and we will get something else from a different team. This just might be the new normal for offseason trades. They are too complicated to complete Team A to Team B. You need CDEF and G teams to maneuver the cap now.
